Been going here for gelato for over 8 years and never tasted a better ice cream since- the flavours are amazing and the staff are always lovely. Would highly recommend!
One of the best icecreams iv had in my life! Got a cone of mint choc chip, and tub of strawberry muffin, and WOW 😍 the icecream is so creamy and full of flavour and lots of choco!
The best gelato in York, and one of the best I've ever tried. Roberto's philosophy is summarised in this text that hangs up on the wall of his shop. Absolutely wonderful.
Ice Cream heaven! freshly made on The premises, some new flavours every time you go in, good prices, lovely atmosphere, & great staff, they do other foods too, pizza, & other tasty savouries, plus a range of delicious desserts, a nice touch is the mini vanilla cone you get with your drink! I'd give more star's if I could.
Amazing little place! Lots of gluten free choices. Gluten free Cannoli were the best I've had since Rome! Friendly staff great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Popped in today and it was well worth it 👌. I had milk chocolate and vanilla ice cream and the wife had dark chocolate with the ricotta and hazelnut, which the lovely lady serving us recommended to the wife. Great portion and taste. Will definitely be visiting York again if only here for ice cream. Many thanks Andy and Mel xxx.
Tasty coffee & walnut cake at Roberto’s in York.
I had the coffee & walnut cake. It was well balanced in taste and not sickly sweet.
They do a nice selection of other baked goods and also ice cream which is well reputed.
Coffee was decent too.
Lovely people, eager to please and hard working. BEST gluten-free cannoli, (one of best I’ve ever had, including in Oaxaca, MX!) hot chocolate wasn’t too sweet. Clean and the bonus gelato bite was delicious! Try the chili hot chocolate!!
Well, we almost resigned to visit this place because of the long queue outside of the cafe but... fortunately decided to wait and had a look inside. Very small cafe with few tables and limited flavours of icecream but there is something more than that. What makes this place extraordinary is idea and way how those gelatos are made. For some visitors it might be another stop while walking through this wonderful city, just another good coffee or dessert. But if you look a little bit closer, if you realise you've just tried a gelato that will never be the same again, which changes every time during production, you will find out this cafe is unique and has a soul. This is what I expected from magical city of York - magically sweet Roberto's cafe.
People will tell you this is the best ice cream in York - they are absolutely right. Delicious, good intensity to the flavour but also lightness and balance. Very recommended
