Came here one Sunday morning , arrived at 9 o'clock and there was already a queue. I recommend you to arrive early so u don't have to wait as this place is quite popular and there are always people waiting. Had a latte, fresh orange juice and avocado toast with poached eggs. Very good quality food and the service was great.
They had some yummy pastries as well.

Summary: A brunch place to visit; cosy, tasty, and just what you need to be a bit happier.
There was a queue to get in, so I waited about 30 minutes before I was sat, but it was worth it. The quality of the coffee there is excellent (they even do decaf!), and so is the food. Shame I didn’t try anything sweet, but I would expect it to be the same high quality as the rest of the food and drink here.

We have been to Brew&Brownie 2 days in a row, queue for 10-15mins to get the table, even my kid said it's worth the wait, that's how good they are. Fresh ingredients, perfectly done coffee, every dish and drink was spot on. I like the special French toast very much! Highly recommend if you are visiting York, great location in central town. Kids friendly and helpful staff. Definitely will visit again next time when we travel in York.

We were a group of 4 and it took us around an hour to be seated, which isn’t bad considering how long the queue was when we went here during the Easter hols. The eggs royale and avocado toast were good but nothing substantial. I’d recommend getting the apple pancakes as they were the best dish we got.

A classic York brunch spot I have visited many times. Their pancakes are so incredible that they have caused me to almost never order anything else when I go. The best topping is absolutely the yogurt, honey and compote. Although there's often a queue at peak times it is definitely worth a wait.

My go to place for the best pancakes ever.
Other menu options are delicious too, however I am partial to an American pancake stack.
Mix it up a bit with seasonal specials.
They do the best hot chocolate in town, I love my hot chocolate extra hot and they never disappoint.
Always a pleasure to visit here.

Headed here on a morning for breakfast. Highly recommend coming as early as you can; the place filled up pretty quickly with many people waiting outside.
Inside is very modern with local art prints and plenty of cakes and brownies strewn across the counter and windowsill.
The breakfast was exceptional with butter bean baked beans, crispy streaky bacon and their sourdough bread. The eggs were cooked perfectly - I would highly recommend adding some black pudding to the breakfast for the full experience. We saw a neighbouring customer get their pancakes and they were stacked very high, with loads of syrup and cream! Unfortunate we didn’t stay another day to try them.
The orange juice, although £4, was really fresh and worth it as a pick-me-up on a morning.
We went back later in the day to get some billionaire’s shortbread and brownies for takeaway 😅

Super delicious food and extremely nicely presented! Tastefully decorated shop with very friendly staff and table service. The attention to detail is outstanding. The rhubarb and custard French toast is unique and beautiful.

After a short wait outside, we managed to get a table. This is quite unusual as we have walked past many occasions and there’s been a long queue. It just shows how popular this cafe is! I’ve been many times when it first opened, so familiar with the set up. However, the decor looks great and feels freshened from my last visit before lockdown.
The chap who ushered us in was lovely and friendly!! We were a bit late having lunch, so some of the options were sold out! But we plumped for pancakes and brioche french toast. The drinks were ordered and came quite quickly.
The cake counter had many delightful bakes, but we couldn’t fit in after a lovely lunch, so we’ll be back again next time!!

What a lovely coffee/tea shop! I had a delicious brunch, the sourdough toast with scrambled eggs topped with smoked Salmon was divine! The double espresso was also very tasty (I had two). They have good options of baking goods, from their signature brownies to muffins and apple pies. Service was excellent, Francesca and Georgia were fantastic, very welcoming and sweet. Atmosphere is great and cozy. Summary of it: for a fabulous brunch experience in York, don’t even think twice, Brew & Brownie is the place to go!
