Lovely outdoor courtyard area. Wonderful lunches - I had the gluten free chickpea frittata which had leeks and courgette inside. It was delicious! Served with a beetroot sauce, salad, cashew cheese and asparagus. Lots of vegan options. Highly recommend!!

Lovely staff and a quiet environment perfect for my preference. I ordered a tofu hot dog and an almond and cherry cake. Both were very nice and perfect size for lunch.

Discovered this wonderful Vegetarian Deli while walking towards York City Center. Variety of salads, drinks and wraps.
I ordered a masala chai with broccoli salad and Falafel which was served with a delicious beetroot dip.
I loved the food and ambience. Will definitely return when back to York.

Looking for something that looked healthy and tasty in York we found Goji cafe through Google maps. Neither of us are vegetarian but that was no reason for us not to try Goji. We found the staff to be friendly and although a seat outside in the sun would be nice we contentedly sat indoors. Both meals we ate were delicious and were served in good time. My falafel burger was excellent and loved the sweet potato wedges. Happy to recommend and would be happy to return.

Goji has been my favourite café in York for four years. The food is amazing, they have a great range of teas and cakes, and the building is so full of character. The service isn't always the quickest but it's completely understandable given how busy they get!

Great cafe, good food, good drinks, good service, friendly staff. Only negative was it was a bit on the expensive side. There is a small outdoor private area at the rear that is nice to sit in. It's enclosed by brick walls, so it's quiet and sheltered. Good selection of gluten free cakes. Wise selection of teas, including flowering teas. Would definitely recommend.

What a gem, right in the heart of York, close to the Minster.
The food is fantastic: freshly and properly cooked from scratch, all vegetarian and loads of vegan food. Lots of organic ingredients and nothing ultra processed. The coffee (from Pollards of Sheffield) is definitely the best in York. The vegan cashew nut quiche was to die for!
And all at incredibly reasonable prices. Congratulations to the lovely and creative staff!

So many vegan options! We wanted to get a bit of everything but had to limit ourselves! We grabbed a take away salad box for £5.45ish which was perfect for lunch :) everything was so fresh and we wish something like this existed round the corner from our home!

Stopped here for a very impromptu Saturday brunch whilst walking around York a real stumbled upon moment
The food was really good absolutely delicious my partner had a savory tart whereas I went for cake
We were both incredibly pleased with the offerings and left with happy full bellies!

I really wish I had taken some photos of this lovely little cafe in York. Took a couple of none vegan/vegetarian friends in for coffee and cake. We all had the dark chocolate and orange cake with vegan ice cream, delicious! My friends were vegan cake newbies and they were not disappointed! Love the fact that they use their wall space to display creations from local Artists.
Finally revisited York and Goji! Its well worth the 210+mile round trip 😜 I tired the Middle Eastern Patter for 1 and my word, everything tasted divine! Taste explosion inside my mouth with every bite. We took a piece of the blueberry cheesecake (made fron nuts) Dam! I wish I could hire the chef for my personal use 🤪
If you are in York and you prefer vegetarian and vegan food, look no further than Goji! Until my next trip Goji, I am currently in my kitchen trying to recreate these amazing dishes. 🌱💚

A popular veggie-vegan spot in York
The Goji Café is a popular café and takeaway, and rightly so: it’s a great place to eat. It serves a reasonable selection of soups, starters, salads, mains, desserts and cakes alongside a good range of coffees, teas and other drinks. Many of the dishes are vegan, or can be adapted to be vegan-friendly. There are gluten-free options, too, but more choice would be good.
I don’t get the chance to visit often, but when I do, I like anything vegan on their menu which comes with roast potatoes. You can’t go wrong with a roast potato, but you could also try their tasty sweet-potato wedges. Their home-made desserts and cakes usually include plenty of vegan choices and are delicious. If there’s a vegan cheesecake on the menu, I can’t resist it. Not cheap, because of lots of expensive ingredients, but indulgent and gorgeous! Their other cakes are yummy, too. On the whole, the menu is good, but, even though I don’t visit often, it seems samey and just aimed at a student market. Would like much more variety, please, for all customers and more hot veg. But overall, the place is a gem.
For me, the huge downside is the building: there is a small dining room downstairs (and small courtyard) and another dining room on the first floor, but the loo is on the top floor: up a beautiful, but horribly-steep, old staircase. The place is virtually inaccessible for wheelchair users and many other disabled people. A move to a better place, with a downstairs loo, is long overdue. The waiting-staff work incredibly hard, dashing up and down lots of stairs all day long. And still serve with a smile!
Not a cheap place to eat, but it’s in the middle of an expensive city, so the prices will have to reflect their overheads.

Goji is an absolute hidden gem .. and well worth seeking out. I always go there when I visit York, I have a vegan lunch (usually mushroom tofu burger .. which is delicious) and get some vegan cakes to go! Their savoury food is outstanding, and their vegan cakes are out of this world. The staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. The place is delightfully quirky and warm. I highly recommend going .. and it's worth waiting for a table if there are none available (as you cannot book a table)

Went into goji today and it was packed out but on first impressions really lovely! We got the vegan hot dog with all the trimmings to take out and went back later when there were some tables available for tea and cake. Can't recommend the vegan lemon and poppy seed cake enough! It was beautiful. And couldn't fault the hot dog. Great staff and well organised for small busy environment.

I’m a recent vegan convert and had the humous sharing platter, honestly the best meal I’ve had since turning vegan. We weren’t sure what salad to pick so they brought us a selection. The staff were lovely, service was quick and the location is beautiful. I treated myself to a slice of cake to take away for later. £15 for the two of us inc drinks, so incredibly reasonable. My only niggle is that the toilets were up really steep stairs, but it’s an old building. Will definitely be going again!

This vegetarian deli style cafe offers a range of menu items including soups, salads, quiche (vegan as well) and snacks.

The food we ordered was quite nice. I personally enjoyed the falafels, tabouli and the sweet potato borek. The sample cake with cardamom and other spices we tried upon arrival was also really nice.

We arrived at a busy time of day, towards the end of their lunch service, meaning that our order got confused twice and they ran out of a few things we wanted to try but it wasn't too much of an issue. The staff were otherwise very friendly and checked regularly to ensure everything was going well and we were enjoying our meal

The specials menu outside Goji Cafe caught my eye so I headed inside for lunch. Goji is a lovely vegetarian and vegan deli and cafe with seating inside and a sunny courtyard out the back.
