Awesome place. Very rare to be in a building like this. Lovely staff and tasty scones. The queue for Betty’s tea rooms was too long and we found our way here. Very glad we did!

We came in for a quick coffee and sat upstairs on the first floor which has a lovely view of the market. The cafe is quite small and tight and so you’re sitting quite close to other customers, which kind of makes it quite costly but challenging if you’re bringing in a large backpack or heavy coats. We ordered an iced latte and a hot chocolate with scone sticks, cream and marshmallows. Everything was quite good - the hot chocolate with scones is especially a nice treat!

Best scone of my life. Huge selection freshly made daily. Choice of jams, clotted cream and even chutney with the cheese ones. Tiny cafe on the floors but with a big heart. No 1 hr queue as with other more famous cafe.

Adorable little shop, located right in the heart of Old York. There is a wide selection of sweet and savoury scones and soke cakes, along with teas and coffee. The staff are amazing and enthusiastic - full of energy for the items they sell and very customer oriented. The scones were light, tender and crisp on the outside. There is not a bad word to be saide everything was fantastic. If you are in York, you must go!

so far the best cream tea in the UK for me! the scone itself is really nice, and the clotted cream is perfect, and I really liked their special flavored scones also. this time I tried strawberry scone with lemon curd jam, (and for tea Girly Grey) it was heavenly!

Probably serves the fluffiest scones in the Shambles. Quaint setup over three themed floors, each with their own stories written out on the walls. Unfortunately only service dogs allowed.

Definitely coming again to try the cakes! In general, it is a lovely place to have a coffee date - plus, it's next to Shambles market. So you get all that rich atmosphere.

such a cute lil tea house in shambles street. scones were delicious and soft. servers were very friendly and service was great! there is a waiting time though as seats are quite limited, but i’d say it’s worth the wait

Snug and a lovely spot for our family of 5! We thought there might be a wait, but had no problem. The scones were delightful!

Partner and I were visiting York for the weekend and had an amazing time especially in ‘The Shambles’. The Parlormade Scone House is the best place for homemade scones of a unique variety; the drinks were also perfect and the Staff were nothing but lovely! We will be coming again when we next visit York.
