Like others stumbled across this little place Almaz, Saahil was our server. Excellent service and the food was fantastic. The flavours were out of this world. Absolutely the best place in York for shawarma. I enjoyed the chicken, but have to say the lamb was exceptional. So tender and flavourful. Cheap lunch! They have 10% student discount. We had the falafel wrap which was pretty good. We were the only people in there on a Saturday for lunch but I think it is more popular for dinner. Lots of sharing options with hot and cold plates and cheap cocktails 🍸

Stopped here on a business trip on my last night. Food was FANTASTIC! Best I’ve had in years. I had the chicken shawarma and hummus appetizer and the lamb shawarma plate. A great little restaurant. The restaurant was a bit warm, but the food was great, and the service impressive. Servings were generous, but not to distract from the food quality. Along with this, the pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommended!
