We visited as a couple and a dog for a Sunday roast dinner on 17/09/23 and we were all made to feel very welcome.

We hired out the top floor for our engagement party. Could not recommend enough! The staff were amazing. They let us in in the morning to set up, and packed up everything for us to collect the next day. They were also really welcoming and helpful. We had a great experience 😊

A really nice pub with a very good selection of ales on tap. It’s an old building but the decor is contemporary. My pint was well kept and the service was friendly and efficient.

This is by far my favourite bar in York. I sit and work in here during the day between meetings, and I meet friends here for evening drinks too. Sometimes I just sit reading and drinking coffee in peace and quiet.
The team are so friendly and helpful. The food is great too. Five stars isn't enough.
Have been here for drinks a few times staff are always friendly and welcoming nice pub with plenty of seating. First time having food in here we went for the Sunday roast, we had the roast pork belly which was cooked excellently all the veg was beautiful. Very reasonable price for great food
Just in for a couple of pre dinner drinks. Very nice beer (Leeds brewery golden ale if I remember correctly). Friendly staff wo let me sample a couple before I decided.
Went here following a funeral. We had a nice room upstairs. Food was delicious and everyone could order what they wanted off the menu and order drinks from the bar.
It worked out very well as I hadn’t really any idea how many people would attend.
One of my top regular pub choices in York. Great place for socializing and live music. Good food for lunch or dinner, and a bit of a different selection of beers than elsewhere in York with it being a Leeds Brewery establishment. 👌 The staff are always really friendly as well!

I come here often with my university society. Always friendly staff and a great ambience. Would definitely recommend coming for a nice night and fun place to go. Drinks are of standard price for York and a good range of them!
Really good selection of real ales, 15 different on tap, the food was really tasty and didn't take long to arrive, the staff were friendly and helpful, very dog friendly gave us a bowl of water
Nice pub with excellent choice of beers. Staff are attentive and pleasant. The pub can get quite busy so patience may be required. Has a private room for hire. Can't comment about food as we only stopped for a drink but menus available on all tables and a separate dining area too.
I do love this pub, first one my local friend took me to in york and have been back every time. Steak sandwich is beautiful and love having a drink in their little beer garden
Nice pub on one of the main streets near Minster. Had a couple of drinks. Not particularly busy but took a while to get served.
