Lovely place by the river. Yery well presented inside and very clean. We had Fish cakes which were delicious � and also had cheese platter which was lovely also. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

Struggled to find a place in York that served food and let our 13 year old in with our Labrador Katie. Plonkers were amazing. Gave us a seat by the window, water for the dog and quick service for food and drink. Meal was amazing. Kids fish and chips were great value and tasted yummy. Staff were friendly, attentive and a lovely warm welcome. Thanks you 'Plonkers'

We sat outside on a Friday afternoon & had some food & drinks. My partner had the pie & really enjoyed it. I went for the Halloumi skewer & was a little disappointed to find it only had 3 pieces of halloumi for the price. The sweet potato fries was again ok but nothing special. 2 meals & 2 pints of fruit cider came to just over £41 . The food was reasonably prices but over £7 for the pints is a lot.

This is a lovely little pub by the river in York. Located just opposite the York Opera House it is very central. The food on offer is pretty standard pub food with a good selection of vegetarian options. I absolutely loved the live music here tonight and would absolutely come back again to listen to this duo or similar bands again. The atmosphere was also really nice, vibrant and friendly.

Easy to book for Sunday dinner. Food was ok, meat a bit tough and Yorkshire pud burnt but still enjoyed the meal. Roasties, veg and gravy to die for.

The name of this place really makes me smile. I love the fact it's called "Plonkers". Second time coming here and I'm always leaving this place very full!! This time round my colleagues and I had lunch by the river on a nice and warm day. Had to wait a bit as the service time for bringing the food was between 30-45mins. Overall, its a nice restaurant to visit and I believe they are very generous with the amount of food they bring. Make sure to come down. You'll be "Plonkers" if ya didn't!

Food was pretty damn good. Beer was great (although would have preferred more Theakstons offerings on tap) hangover the day after wasn't quite so good but that's always a measure of how good the night before was isn't it and judging by the ratio of big hangover to good night I class this as a win. And, the flood waters didn't trap us in the place, sadly, a flood related lock-in would have been fab.

Hidden gem in York. Would like to keep it to myself but that would be selfish. One of the last independent pubs. Fantastic home made food. The carvery is awesome. The chef knows exactly how to roast meat melts like marshmallow. Extra gravy included. Couldn't ask for more and bags of character.

Great vibe to this place and friendly staff all round . Nice bar and has a chill out area near the river a few yards from the bar itself which is table service. Quality and tasty food at not unreasonable prices.
