Plonkers Wine And Beer Bar - York - Photo album

We sat outside on a Friday afternoon & had some food & drinks. My partner had the pie & really enjoyed it. I went for the Halloumi skewer & was a little disappointed to find it only had 3 pieces of halloumi for the price. The sweet potato fries was again ok but nothing special. 2 meals & 2 pints of
This is a lovely little pub by the river in York. Located just opposite the York Opera House it is very central. The food on offer is pretty standard pub food with a good selection of vegetarian options. I absolutely loved the live music here tonight and would absolutely come back again to listen to
Easy to book for Sunday dinner. Food was ok, meat a bit tough and Yorkshire pud burnt but still enjoyed the meal. Roasties, veg and gravy to die for.
The name of this place really makes me smile. I love the fact it's called "Plonkers". Second time coming here and I'm always leaving this place very full!! This time round my colleagues and I had lunch by the river on a nice and warm day. Had to wait a bit as the service time for bringing the food w
Nice local pub, relax and moody brick wall interior, friendly staff, delicious sunday roast, large portions of foods, perfect day.
Food was pretty damn good. Beer was great (although would have preferred more Theakstons offerings on tap) hangover the day after wasn't quite so good but that's always a measure of how good the night before was isn't it and judging by the ratio of big hangover to good night I class this as a win. Try the beef and ale pie it is absolutely stunning !!! If we loved closer we would definitely come back more often !
Had a great meal here, staff friendly and attentive, good value and nice atmosphere. Good selection of food and desserts. Nice coffee served.
Hidden gem in York. Would like to keep it to myself but that would be selfish. One of the last independent pubs. Fantastic home made food. The carvery is awesome. The chef knows exactly how to roast meat melts like marshmallow. Extra gravy included. Couldn't ask for more and bags of character.
Great vibe to this place and friendly staff all round . Nice bar and has a chill out area near the river a few yards from the bar itself which is table service. Quality and tasty food at not unreasonable prices.
We found this place by mistake but I’m so glad we did. The staff are so friendly and the food was PHENOMENAL (and reasonably priced). We’ve never been to York before, but when we come back we’ll definitely visit this place again
Sat by the river in the sun for a few drinks on a Sunday afternoon - lovely! My other half asked for an iced americano and there was some confusion when this was put through to the inside bar to be made. We were given a normal Americano with ice but our waitress was super attentive and helpful, with
Me and my dad came across this place while looking for somewhere to grab a couple drinks after we drove down from Scotland. I loved the decor and just how plokers looks inside, the young girl on the bar (not sure of her name but I know her go to drink is also Southern comfort and lemonade) was lovel
Excellent location right next to the Dungeons so very convenient. They have indoor and outdoor seating, staff were friendly and food was fairly quick and defo tasty. Not over the top amazing, but nice enough for the money. We booked online, wish I’d have realised we could have had riverside seats wh
Lovely staff, very friendly especially the young blonde guy behind the bar. Made my mother and girlfriend and I feel very welcome
