Amazing duck...gorgeous dumplings...wicked seaweed. The house wine is fine. The service is a good balance of polite & attentive. Even the toilets are nice!

I’m a traveller from Indonesia. I visitied york with my family. We were looking for Asian Cuisine and found out that this place is reccommended. And it really is! Good food and good service!
We wanted some chinese food and decided to Yelp it. This place was fairly near to us and the reviews were quite ok. The place is quite quaint, but the interior has too much red for my liking. The food, however, is really good. Didn't expect it to be, but to our surprise, it was. The waitresses did their jobs ok, not fantastic service, but not too bad for Europe. We would definitely stop by again when we return to York.
I have to say the spicy beef soup noodles in here is the best I have ever tried in the UK! To be honest, as a Chinese, I have been disappointed about the Chinese food in Chinatown of London. But during my trip in York, this place was such a surprise as the noodles they served was really authentic and delicious. My friend and I were so satisfied after eating up a big bowl of the noodles in a cold winter night as our Chinese stomachs loved it soooooo much!Please try it if you do love hot and spicy Chinese food.
Quite possibly the best Chinese meal I have had in my life. That is all I will say. If I wasn't 11000 miles away right now I would love some lunch.
Really nice little Chinese restaurant in the heart of York's Quarter. Quite stylish. Good service. Perfectly reasonable food, for a reasonable price, too.
A fantastic family meal!
We had booked a table for 7pm and arrived on the dot, there wasn’t any other customers in at that point so we got seated and served straight away.
We browsed the menu and ordered quite a few different dishes, our drinks came straight away and the food wasn’t much longer!
The aromatic duck starter was lovely however there wasn’t enough wraps, we were maybe 2-3 short of what we needed, it would also be nice to see bigger duck portion options as you can only order 1/4 crispy duck.
Our mains arrived shortly after, all of which looked, smelled and tasted amazing.
The place started to fill up and before we knew it there wasn’t a table empty which is great to see!
Some of the dishes are a little pricey but honestly the taste and portion sizes make up for it!
We live 3 hours away from York and are already planning our next trip so that we can come back to Hong Kong Chop House for another delicious Chinese feast!

Real Chinese food and tasty. Not too may people on Sunday, but other days could be busy. Main dishes are averagely at around £12 to £17 each with reasonable size.
We looked this up on Google and after reading several good reviews we decided this was going to be our evening meal. The staff were obliging and very friendly. We were both well pleased with the quality of the food, hot tasty and plentiful..My only little quibble being the plates were stone cold, not good to put hot food onto and the prawn crackers weren't very good. Would we recommend a visit, Yes we would and we would hesitate going back. Thank you Hong Kong Chop House 👍
My girlfriend and I visited and really enjoyed our food. We were seated straight away and served soon after. The food and service was great and we would definitely like to return. Highly recommend!
They have a very good selection of both authentic and westernised dishes, so no one can complain! 😂

Awesome food and service! My partner and i got got 5spice ribs, a main dish to share, and 2 bowls of rice, and it was the perfect amount of food. Wait staff was really nice. Atmosphere was very calm and cozy :)
Tucked away, this hidden treasure is definitely worth a visit. It’s my go to York restaurant and it never lets me down. Great service, authentic menu, the best service and good value. I recommend the satay chicken and the crispy pork soy garlic sauce.
Looks nothing on the outside but once inside the food is out of this world, you know it's good when you're the only English people in there and the rest are all Chinese. I would say very possibly the best Chinese meal I've ever eaten*****
It could do with a bit of an upgrade. However, I found the staff really friendly and the food was really nice.
Hot and sour soup was fantastic. The mains we shared were just as good. I also thought it was reasonably priced. When we left, there wasn't a seat in the place, and people took our table straight away. That speaks volumes to me.
The best meal I’ve ever had since 5 days in UK.
