Called in for a cup off tea on the way to visit the cathedral, sat in the beer garden and liked it so much we went back for dinner that evening, staff were very friendly and the food was amazing compliments to the chef, it was that good I really wanted to lick the plate, definitely worth visiting plus if we return to York we would book accommodation there aswell
I took they wife there for a meal whilst we were visiting york . It was great , the staff were outstanding, the food was lovely and the place itself is a surprise . Let me recommend the pie , I loved it , congrats to them all .
Stayed for 1 night. We have been during the day many times and eaten here. Always fancied stopping and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic room (3) four poster bed and view of the minister. Slanted stairway only adds to the overall character of the building. Friendly staff and great breakfast .
We had a fantastic family meal at the Guy Fawkes Inn on Boxing Day. Service was faultless and everyone knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection of beers and wines. The menu is extensive and catered for all of us. The food was amazing. Every plate was cleared and everyone complimented how good their meal was and how well cooked it was. Full compliments to the chef!

Stayed here last with my husband for our wedding anniversary and it was fabulous! The chef did a fantastic job with our meal! All three courses were delicious. The best meal we have had in a long time. The staff were so friendly and made you feel at home. The service was excellent. Our room was lovely and the Parma Violet gin was fab It's in such a perfect place with the city centre right at your feet. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for helping to make our anniversary stay even more special x
Stayed here for my 50th on 22nd april 2018 as a surprise soon as we got there we got upgraded to a four poster bed � i loved it very much.
Roll top bath, clean,friendly helpful staff, stunning food,creaky cosy & people friendly & stones throw from the Minster york is beautiful would highly recommend the guy fawkes inn.

We got a last minute deal one night stay for the Belfry room, full of character, great location. Great staff and lovely breakfast, the staff could not do enough for you to make sure the stay was good.

I was told what foods I couldn't have
Even when sat to my table the waiter knew of my allergy and warned me off the food I couldn't have
Ended up with steak and sweet potato chips
It was beautiful
The rest or my party found the food fantastic and will be back next time we are in York
Stayed at the Guy Fawkes hotel last night. Went to York for a girls night away. Amazing hotel. Lots of character and loved the original features. Staff were amazing. Very friendly and gave good advice on places to eat/drink. I stayed in room 1 which had an amazing view of artwork telling the story of the Guy Fawkes Gun Powder Plot. Will definitely be returning, hopefully in October for my birthday celebrations. Thank you for an amazing time guyfawkeshotel
Absolutely the greatest hotel I have ever stayed in. I took my girlfriend for her birthday and the staff went above and beyond to help me make it special. It may seem a little pricey BUT It's actually really great value for all the luxury and VIP treatment that you receive. The rooms are stunning, the bar has character and the food is gorgeous. We had the stunning room 3. The bed was so comfortable, best nights sleep. Cannot give high enough praise for the staff especially the manager and also especially for Jo!!

Myself and my partner are here now. We are in the Belfry room now then moving to the Fourposter Suite this afternoon. This Inn is great, no good if you're over 5ft 7, lol, parts of our room have very low ceilings so you have to duck or grouse. � Highly recommended for something different. The rooms look onto the York Minster and you can see/hear Mr and Mrs Minster the resident Perigrine Falcons. Love it.
My wife and have just spent 3 nights here and couldn't be happier. The inn has so much history and character. We had dinner on the Wednesday night and it was delicious. The staff were all very friendly and attentive ( especially Stacey) who went out of her way to make my wife and i feel at home. Will absolutely recommend to friends to stay. Thanks to all for such a pleasant stay.
Had a meal in the pub and went for the guy fawkes steak pie with mash and gravy. It’s was lush. Stacks of tender beef filling, lush grave and lovely pastry which was thin. Absolutely recommend this

Booked a spur of the moment trip and stayed at the Guy Fawkes Inn. Lovely room, delicious breakfast and great location. I would highly recommend this place. Next time we visit York we're definitely going to book a table for dinner too.
I'll always remember, remember the night I stayed her - it was such an interestingly cool place. You really feel like you step back in time in both the room and bar on the first floor. You can walk to all the sites of York easily. Highly recommend.

The location is perfect with stunning views of York Minster, the room was furnished to a very high standard with lovely decor in keeping with the character of the building. The pillows were comfortable and the bedding high quality.
The breakfast was incredible I really loved the ordering system they have in place so you're not waiting very long at all in the morning for your breakfast.

We ate at the restaurant, so I can't comment on the rooms. But what can I say... The best pie I've ever had and I don't say that lightly. Absolutely beautifully home made and well filled. I must commend the chef very highly. The service was on point, polite and attentive. We were welcomed on arrival and departure. All in all very impressed all round. Thank you.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Guy Fawkes Inn. I love the decor and the atmosphere. The room I had reserved exceeded my expectations and made my weekend extra special. Being right beside the York Minster also makes it an ideal location. The staff were all super nice and helpful as well. Would definitely stay there again if I go back to York and can highly recommend to others.

We stayed just before to just after Christmas Day as a large group of 9.
The level of attention, care and customer service was next level. Each staff member was warm and engaging and made us feel very welcome.
Christmas Day lunch was fantastic. Despite being away from home and the rest of our family, the staff made us feel like we were in our lounge room at home. The gift for our little one was a very special touch. We were very appreciative that they worked on Christmas Day to give us an amazing Christmas Day experience.
The Inn is just gorgeous, the food and service exceptional.
The location is superb, right in the thick of it and opposite the Cathedral.

It's an ancient building so don't expect all the mod cons. Wonky floors, staircases etc. but it's immaculate. Couldn't be better positioned. View from the room is stunning. Staff are all super, food and drinks are all very good. Would definitely come back.
We had a family lunch in the restaurant and it was fantastic. The staff were freindly and very helpful (we were a group of 10). The food was melt in your mouth delicious and all 10 of us loved what we had. Would highly recommend , but book ahead - it was busy. Location is right next to York Minster, ideal place to stop for lunch on our tour of the city.
