Stopped in here this morning on my way to the Christmas market. Fabulous place, staff are all lovely, food is great with a large menu available and I had the best cup of tea ever!. It's nice and cosy and clean. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in York. I'd rather go to Bailey's than bettys any day. Thanks xx
This was probably the best little find in york as I was down for a training day would happily come here again if ever back in york staff so friendly exactly the way a cafe should be ran
Best breakfast around hands down... No frills, honest, traditional place. Underrated due to the fancy and trendy places in the surrounding area. Everything was hot, fresh, tasty, flawless, very enjoyable and really good value. Service fast and friendly.
Great place to come for breakfast the fried toast is top tier! Plus they have a gluten free menu which included all the cakes. Perfectly located between the train station and the minster, would highly recommend! :)
Good for a quick, solid bite.
It is not a fancy place nor does it pass itself as one.
The food and value are good.
The vegetarian breakfast and yorkshire tea are a must try here
The food was wonderful and a delight to eat
Definitely do try to have atleast one meal here when in York.
A must visit place in York
Called here for our breakfast.
The staff were welcoming and friendly.
We ordered 2 Full English. The food was served pretty quick and the prices were average for York. Would happily have breakfast here again.
Great find for Gluten Free!
Found by chance and was pleasantly surprised, A significant amount of the menu was properly gluten free (not just things removed like some places) and healthy sized portions, had a most enjoyable toasty and dessert!
No price premium for Gluten Free and no small portions, will be back next time in York
Food fresh. Lovely menu. Great staff. Best placed we ate in York. It looks like a cafe but go in & see what they do. Fabulous.
My Wife and I visited this place for the first time over the bank holiday weekend, my Wife is disabled and rang them up for directions and explained she had limited mobility, they very kindly reserved us a table. Food was very good and staff were very accommodating.
A classic tea room with a very wide choice of dishes, and some great cakes. A good place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of York.

We stopped in on our way to catch the bus, the place was fairly busy as it was right before lunch.
The atmosphere was nice and the staff were polite and attentive.
This place has a decent menu and the food was excellent, the giant Yorkshire pudding and sausages with gravy was a delight, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Belgian waffles.
Would recommend to everyone that you stop in on the way past.
