It's not going too far to say this is the best Idian restaurant I have ever been to. The food was exceptional. Because it's cooked so well it's not laden with salt and oil. The food was a little different to most Indians which makes them unique. You will have an unforgettable taste experience. Also the service was exceptional. The waiters were so friendly and cheerful, you really felt welcome and they were right on top of service, for example, they brought over more table water before we even asked because we had nearly all our bottled water and they could see we were going to need it! Also when I tried to open the hot towel wrapper, another waiter was right there, helped me open it. Highly, highly recommend this restaurant.
Our first visit & I have to say it didn't disappoint. The staff were so friendly & polite & the food was just simply fantastic & I would say the best Indian food we've had.

After visiting here Saturday night I have to say was with out doubt the best curry I have ever had the staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome and all the food was outstanding would definitely recommend it to any one in York just make sure you book they are always busy but worth it 👍

2nd meal I’ve had here. My boss visits York about 4 times a year and I can see this becoming a regular haunt. Food top notch and service was quick efficient and friendly. Definitely one to recommend.

We visited Mumbai Lounge this evening for our anniversary and after hearing so many fantastic reviews we had to try it out.
The customer service was impeccable from all members of staff. They were so upbeat, chatty and attentive.
The food was unbelievable I'm very boring and had a Korma and my partner had a Naga and it's the best Indian we've both had and the perfect food for our celebration.
I can't believe it's taken us so long to visit this resturaunt but we will absolutely be back very soon but if we can't get a babysitter we'll certainly be getting a takeaway.

Me and my husband went for dinner on Saturday night , it's our favourite place to go for a curry .Weve been a number of times and the food and service is always outstanding. Yet again it didn't disappoint.
I looked at the reports on trip advisor and it was good so we took the gamble .... it was amazing best Indian meal I've ever had . Did not disappoint
I live in Hull so this is the first time I have tried this restaurant, and without exaggerating, it’s the best Indian food I’ve ever had and the best table service I’ve ever had as well. Brilliant service from the staff and a big menu to choose from. Would 100% recommend giving it a try.

Amazing food & service in this very popular and busy restaurant - wish we lived nearer.
The food, as always, was first rate. The atmosphere in there is casual without being bawdy, and the staff are attentive without being overwhelming.
Thus is why it's always my first choice for an Indian restaurant in york.
We were traveling from Edinburgh and this was my first time trying an Indian meal and I can honestly say it was the most delicious food I have ever had, just perfect. Very good service, highly recommended. Now that we are back in Edinburgh, we still miss the food here.
Have to say one of the best curries I have had in a long time. Lamb and Chicken were so tender.
Everyone was very welcoming, staff were so helpful in advising us with our choice.

Appeared to be about 3/4 full when we arrived. 6.15pm. Soon had customers being shown to tables on other floor. Service well organised, food and drink orders taken by different staff but no delays. Atmosphere great and our food choices worked out well for us both. Restaurant remained busy and lively.

A busy, bustling restaurant with wonderful Indian food. The service was also excellent. It can be quite noisy but that does add to the atmosphere as well!
Great food and wonderful paintings in the restaurant. Reasonably priced too. Really set up our week off in York and Yorkshire. So much fun.
First time I have put 5 stars to absolutely everything. The food here is drop dead GORGEOUS! The portion sizes are brilliant The way they give you the pans and the hot plate is very nice. People have actually requested for their normally spicy curries such as (Madras and Vindaloo) to now be overly spicy and they will gladly listen and cater to the customers needs which brings me to the service.The service is the best I have ever received in an establishment like this. It's cozy and comfortable the staff are so friendly they even open the door for you on exit the food.is that good this deserves a Michelin star. Are you looking for a good Indian restaurant in York City Centre? Look no further GO HERE! It's also open Lunch time on weekends which is a massive bonus they also don't just do warm ups for lunch times either it's all made fresh. Been twice now great both times and WILL be back!
Ate here tonight . The food was amazing as always. Been here twice before. Disappointed they sat us right next to the door where it was draughty and cold. Yep my fault for not asking to move , but the restaurant at the back was empty . I appreciate restaurants do this so people passing see it's busy, but it ruined my meal and experience
Booked to come a for meal for my wife's birthday and after reading some of the past reviews we were a bit dubious. But, we were pleasantly surprised! I ordered the chicken passanda and my wife ordered the Chicken massala and both came piping hot and so creamy. They were flavourful and good portion sizes. We shared the mushroom rice, some chips and a garlic and cheese nann, all of which were delicious. I'd definitely recommend Mumbai Lounge for a lovely meal.
Great place to visit if you are a fan of a very rich menu - the variety of dishes was really good.
A little disappointed by the fact that even though we ordered medium spiced curries, they were very mild. Otherwise delicious dishes, very meat intense (maybe too much as we could barely finish them).
The service was quick, perhaps too quick :) and the only thing that let them down is pouring the beers upfront (from bottles) with limited skill, before bringing them to the table, which left them rather flat.

I would only say that we were taken to the bar to wait for our table while waiting it's a thorough fair NOT GOOD we kept having to move for people going to the toilet and also guys coming out from the kitchen to deliver food to the tables .The restaurant was very busy but still .
My other issue size of covers and only 1 uranil and 1 cubical for the men I was stood 5 deep in a very small place.
Ladies only 2 cubical with only 1 lock.
ALL SAID FOOD WAS EXCELLENT.
