Ate here tonight . The food was amazing as always. Been here twice before. Disappointed they sat us right next to the door where it was draughty and cold. Yep my fault for not asking to move , but the restaurant at the back was empty . I appreciate restaurants do this so people passing see it's busy, but it ruined my meal and experience

The food, as always, was first rate. The atmosphere in there is casual without being bawdy, and the staff are attentive without being overwhelming.
Thus is why it's always my first choice for an Indian restaurant in york.

First time I have put 5 stars to absolutely everything. The food here is drop dead GORGEOUS! The portion sizes are brilliant The way they give you the pans and the hot plate is very nice. People have actually requested for their normally spicy curries such as (Madras and Vindaloo) to now be overly spicy and they will gladly listen and cater to the customers needs which brings me to the service.The service is the best I have ever received in an establishment like this. It's cozy and comfortable the staff are so friendly they even open the door for you on exit the food.is that good this deserves a Michelin star. Are you looking for a good Indian restaurant in York City Centre? Look no further GO HERE! It's also open Lunch time on weekends which is a massive bonus they also don't just do warm ups for lunch times either it's all made fresh. Been twice now great both times and WILL be back!

I live in Hull so this is the first time I have tried this restaurant, and without exaggerating, it’s the best Indian food I’ve ever had and the best table service I’ve ever had as well. Brilliant service from the staff and a big menu to choose from. Would 100% recommend giving it a try.

Amazing food & service in this very popular and busy restaurant - wish we lived nearer.

Appeared to be about 3/4 full when we arrived. 6.15pm. Soon had customers being shown to tables on other floor. Service well organised, food and drink orders taken by different staff but no delays. Atmosphere great and our food choices worked out well for us both. Restaurant remained busy and lively.

Great place to visit if you are a fan of a very rich menu - the variety of dishes was really good.
A little disappointed by the fact that even though we ordered medium spiced curries, they were very mild. Otherwise delicious dishes, very meat intense (maybe too much as we could barely finish them).
The service was quick, perhaps too quick :) and the only thing that let them down is pouring the beers upfront (from bottles) with limited skill, before bringing them to the table, which left them rather flat.

We were traveling from Edinburgh and this was my first time trying an Indian meal and I can honestly say it was the most delicious food I have ever had, just perfect. Very good service, highly recommended. Now that we are back in Edinburgh, we still miss the food here.

Booked to come a for meal for my wife's birthday and after reading some of the past reviews we were a bit dubious. But, we were pleasantly surprised! I ordered the chicken passanda and my wife ordered the Chicken massala and both came piping hot and so creamy. They were flavourful and good portion sizes. We shared the mushroom rice, some chips and a garlic and cheese nann, all of which were delicious. I'd definitely recommend Mumbai Lounge for a lovely meal.
