New Years day, few places open for a coffee/tea and cake. Found this place at the south end of the High Street/Fossgate – a brilliant place it is too. Had a lovely pot of China tea and Scone, friends had tea and chocolate. Lovely friendly little cafe/tea/coffee house. Walk past all the commercial bland places and make tracks to here – well worth the extra few minutes’ walk from busier north part of the main shopping drag.
We came upon this cafe by accident as we were actually going somewhere else but it was too full and I had a two dogs with me. My friend and I both had lattes and a piece of cake, I can highly recommend the chocolate cake. The service was great and they brought water and treats over for the dogs. Very friendly and great choice on menu we will definitely be back

I. Love. This. Place. The staff is genuinely kind and chatty. There are SO many cute dogs with nice owners that come in and let you let their dogs. And, of course, the food, coffee, and tea and excellent!! I loved that they had loads of vegan options and unique syrups for their coffees. You seriously need to go here. You'll be hooked.
Lovely little cafe in the centre of York. Been a few times but this Saturday was very busy. They do lovely snacks and sandwiches. Had the halloumi and sun dried tomato toasted bagel, really nice.
Cosy place, with friendly staff, a fab menu and reasonable prices. Salmon and earl grey were both lovely
I got a mock tail. The pina colada one. Look at the cheery mm mm. It was yummy and I'd get them again if I had more of a disposable income. The workers are always lovely when I come in. The one with cool tattoos served me and my friend very frienlyly. That's a generic description. Sorry.
Great dog friendly cafe, the smoked salmon and bacon sandwich were excellent as was the latte, super friendly staff, good food at a very reasonable price. Recommended.
such a beautiful place! the staff are so friendly too. such a cosy atmosphere with a great range including vegan and gf. got a jasmine tea and it was so tasty and beautifully presented. 100% would come back 🥰
Fell upon this last week with my youngest son. What a lovely little cafe. Cosy by name, cozy my nature. Lovely food and lovely atmosphere. Lovely staff. Will be coming into town more often with this little gem!
Nice brunch, prices okay, service was a bit slow but pleasant. I probably wouldn’t come again, but that’s because I don’t live in York! I would recommend.
Had a nice coffee and cake here for four. Coffee was really good, but not exceptional, the cakes were lovely, as were the staff, and the decor and atmosphere was indeed cozy. Only minor complaints were that our order came very staggered (my cappuccino arrived five minutes before everyone else's and then our last coffee arrived five minutes after everyone else) and the cakes were a little on the expensive side. However I would definitely still recommend this place for anyone wanting to have a pleasant cuppa in York.
