I hosted a celebratory meal here for 7 of us and the Carluccio's team and new manager were very helpful.
They seated us in our requested spot upstairs, let us decorate the table beforehand, and food and drink service was quick and friendly - our waitress (young, blonde and wearing glasses - sorry I don't have her name!) was an absolute delight.
A beautiful building, reasonably priced menu for everyone and the food was delicious.
My one request - please put pizza back on the menu!

Set in a lovely building. The food is standard Italian. Nothing too surprising. Service when we went in was warm and efficient. Food was tasty.
Lovely old place for a coffee. Friendly quick service. A latte was 2.95. Free wifi
I have always had a wonderful experience at Carluccio's. Real Italian food and incredible service.
Great vegan options, coffee, drinks and atmosphere.

Food is delicious and has a truely italian flare. Service was nice with very pleasant staff that are freindly and knowledgable. Have been on several occasions and will definitely be back again!

Nice atmosphere, lovely polite staff, beautiful decor and table service. The main reason 4 my visit for those who read my posts are i appreciate a good coffee & Carluccio's is probably the best around,
We had great three course meal with drinks for £50-60 with a discount voucher. The food was lovely but two of our choices needed changing due to their popularity. This is understandable but not ideal for Saturday at 8pm. There was a bit of confusion with the mains coming out a bit early, however we only had bread and olives to start so it wasn't a big issue. The waiter was brilliant and very friendly and we will be visiting again soon.

I visited this place twice last week. On the same day. The first time was just for tea and a cake. The service was impeccable. The server made excellent personal recommendations on places to go, and the food was delicious.
When we went back in the evening, every aspect of the service and food only built upon the high bar they had set at lunch. The staff were kindly, and genuine about it, even when the food we ordered wasn't available, immediately offering more expensive alternatives in its place.
The is true skill in the staff in the kitchen. You can watch them work from almost every table in the house, and the food we received was amazing. The Garlic Focaccia was like eating a cloud, and the subtle use of rosemary in our main course was very welcome.
My only regret is that I don't live in York.
Great place to enjoy a quality lunch time meal. A relaxed atmosphere in an interesting, architectural & historic building in the centre of York. Lovely, attentive & friendly service made our tasty meal that much more enjoyable. The fixed cost 2 course menu plus a glass of wine was well worth it.
We arrived as a group of 10 for coffee when they were very busy. Staff friendly and helpful. They let us sit in the closed section upstairs, took our order when we were ready and we received our drinks promptly. Staff checked on us a few times and made us feel welcome and relaxed. Good experience
