Thank you to all for lovely tea and brilliant atmosphere in a coffee shop.
We definitely back in a sunny day to enjoy your garden.
Great location for a tea break and the cakes where absolutely great. Both the inner and outer areas for sitting were great.
Lovely little tea room. Ordered the cream tea which was lovely, although more jam and cream with the scones would be nice, without having to ask. The atmosphere is great inside and the staff were friendly and efficient. Didn't order anything else from the menu but the selection of food looks great and will definitely be returning when in York again :)
Shambles is extremely busy touristic street, so we're lucky to find a place here. We were looking for a tea room nearby the Minster, so Google Map brought us here. Waited 10 mins to get seated. Great afternoon tea experience, lovely garden and indoor seating. Classic good looking high tea for 17 GBP is recommended. Scones and cakes are fresh and tasty. You get an extra pot of hot water to refill your tea. I could order just a side dish mashed potatoes or jacket potato for kids. There are also salads. Would be hard however to move on a wheelchair, narrow passage, step access to the garden. Kids friendly. No vegan desserts.
Wonderful service, great food and portion sizes. Kitchen and staff taking the order were more than happy to make any required changes. The lady serving us was very personable and friendly and it lovely to sit outside. The only minor criticism is that the white bread was very dry but overall a great experience.
No wait, fair prices, lovely food in a historic building.
We are coming almost every year from Greece, and we are visiting York just to enjoy the afternoon tea in this place. It is very beautiful, the staff is very friendly and the food is excellent, whatever you will order. If you are there, don't miss it!
A truly amazing place fresh and clean food is outstanding and also the tea we had a high tea towered with sandwich, scone, cake it's was soo soo nice!!!!!
The staff where lovely here.
And the garden very picturesque and beautifull
All in all this place is 100%perfect
We were recommended this place by a shop on the Shambles, we were not disappointed. The scones came out warmed and seemed freshly made, I asked staff if they were fresh but was told that they were not. My partner ordered a jacket potato which they said was delicious, as was my cream tea. 10/10 would definitely recommend the Earl Grey tea rooms and will return in the future.
We visited Saturday for afternoon tea and the service was fantastic , the food was all beautiful, we had some fussy eaters in our group and they were catered for and we all had a great time. We went back on Sunday for breakfast and again we were not disappointed, everything was perfect, we will all definitely return 😊👍
