Quaint tea shop and cafe with lots of food options. I had the toad-in-the-hole special: a giant Yorkshire pudding with gravy and sausages...great except I think it was powdered gravy, not much taste. Service was prompt and friendly and even Saturday 12:30 we didn't have to wait. Lots of interesting jams for sale as well as tea.
From the outside looks tiny buy goes back some way even with a courtyard area. Style is traditional even with a coal effect electric fire and easy listening music playing. It's very traditional and relaxing. Staff friendly. Served quickly though on a March Tuesday morning it wasn't busy. Had tea, served with a strainer. Nice breakfast blend. Also just a scone which was stale and not really edible. Didn't complain so didn't give them a chance to remidy. Menu looks to be a range of fairly traditional dishes so might be better come lunch.
We had a nice scone and tea here. It's cozy and good value. My only gripe is the tea for two is one pot and a second pot of water. The first cup of tea is rich and perfect while pouring water over the black tea again just makes it weak and unappealing. I had to mark them down on this one for being cheap.
