Called in for a car very was really nice food lovely and hot could of had a bit more turkey but overall it was first class roast potatoes were yummy lovely staff and even though we hadn’t booked and it was very busy and we didn’t have to wait long at all for a table well done to you all had a great time
Nice fresh and tasty breakfast, polite staff and well worth a visit,we will return
It's been many years since we have 'risked' a Toby! We needn't have been worried! Nice greeting, decent prices for drinks, and sat perfectly to help my disabled partner be near the carvery. The food was spot on! Good selection of meat and great selection of veg. The yorkies were surprisingly flat and squashed, but still tasted spot on! The deserts were very nice, although the price reflects the amount, with a disappointing ice cream sundae (purely on amount, not quality). Service was very good and all the staff were friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is always going to be a bit manic in a Toby, for a Sunday evening it was packed. Good to see nowadays! We will definitely try our local one now!
Laid out like every other Today Carvery which is a good thing. The staff didn't mind us parking with a trailer on and then taking over a whole part of the place with eleven people. There was a shortage of staff with it being a bank holiday Monday but they worked very hard to make sure our wait time was minimal. We all got a carvery except for Oscar who demanded a chicken be sacrificed for his nuggets. The staff were also very helpful when we just wanted a side plate for Ayva-Lily who is two so she could share part of her mum's carvery. We made sure that she only had fruit shoot as she is a mean drunk. We all thought the chef that was on the carvery was fun and welcoming. The only worry is that the amount of food was that we all need a nap and have a ride home yet to go 😘
We turned up quite late in the evening without reservations and the staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and got us seated after on a short wait.
The carvery was great as every other Toby I have been to, only difference this one had lamb for my family big plus so all happy.
If we were staying next door at the hotel again we would be happy to go there again.
Thinking the better part of the evening was over; after a long arduous day celebrating my friend’s birthday.
Burnt out, hungry, and looking for some good fill, we pulled into Toby Carvery.
Upon entering, immediate smiles and enthusiasm greeted us; the pick-me-up we didn’t know we needed.
Feeling the positive and extra mile attitude from the girls, I felt it correct to inform them of my friend’s birthday. Expecting only a happy birthday to him, and maybe a joke of a free drink…
But, once sat down, a chorus of girls appeared. Amy, Eden, Natalie, Lucy, and Chloe in unison, a wholehearted happy birthday. The kind of energy that pulled in a few of the other patrons for a sing, and leaving many more with a smile.
The food was terrific, and the carvery servers were 10/10, also.
A forever memory created by people who clearly appreciate their role and jump at the chance to make someone feel satisfied x
Lovely meat very tasty, excellent roast potatoes, but not enough veg choices, had to wait for cabbage a while, stuffing very dry and gravy was all but empty, UPDATE… veg VASTLY improved since my last visit, to which I thank them for.. at least what you report on gets noted and acted upon!!
Met my friend for a breakfast there today. Place was very quiet (it was early though!).
Food was nice and v hot, yorks pud and gravy option with a fry up is a bit mad but seemed popular?! Staff were nice and place looks clean n tidy. Only thing id say is bigger cups for drinking? 3 gulps and its gone
We had booked a table in advance as it was fully booked on Friday we were running late when we called ahead to advise it was no bother.
The staff very friendly.
The meat on the carvery was delicious. We have been to various Toby carvery before and the food here was the best by far.
Well worth a visit.
Great service and atmosphere however the Yorkshire puddings were shocking, flat and heavy with thick batter. The chef said they had been given a new Yorkshire pudding mix and it's rubbish, he wasn't wrong. Please go back to the original mix. I can't fault the meat.
Efficient staff and service, food as expected. Decor could do with an upgrade. There was water leaking into the dining area from the flat roof which staff had correctly cordoned off. It had been pouring down all day!
The place seemed a bit empty but we were made to wait 15 minutes. I don't know why they only allocate a certain area for food while other tables are vacant.
However the carvery was excellent and so was the pud. A bit strange there's not much choice other than carvery for a main. I know that's their signature dish but little else to have except side dishes of pigs in blankets etc.
The barman was very chatty and pleasant. Advised us how to use our blue light card to include the drinks.
All in all a nice meal and plenty of it with a choice of quality meats.
