The Star Inn the City are serving some tasty English classics, with a cheeky Yorkshire twist. We were so full we only managed half a scone each at Betty's before calling it a day! This is the perfect place to sit and relax whilst enjoying some rather wonderful food.
I spent a pleasant evening in this place. The level and professional treatment of the waiters is noticeable. The plating was beautiful, although the truffle macaroni was tasteless. But overall, great and the dessert...out of this world.
Went for a second time with work, and the date dessert was unbelievable. In general, classy place with attentive and professional service.
Food was niceish but expected better given the “brand” and price. We had Sunday lunch : good Yorkshires and veg, but pretty bland meat and stale-tasting roast potatoes. Beef looked like it might be better than the pork.
Overall, this place is resting on its name and needs to up its game.

Can’t speak highly enough of this dining experience. From beginning to end it was really fantastic. Ordered the smoke old fashioned that was beautiful and complex and smoky. For my started i had the scallops that were plump with garnishes that really brought out the flavors. For my main, I had the maple bacon pork that was really moist and tender.
I’ll definitely have to come back and try everything else on the menu!
Finally a sunny day to enjoy a drink on the River. Sat on the patio had a glass of wine and mackerel, mack had an odd jelly on the top assuming it is a preserved preparation. Nice server, view. Inside seating classic restaurant vibe.
Super tasty food. Cooked to perfection. Presented beautifully. Team were knowledgeable and at attentive without feeling like they were over your shoulder. We were served Justyna who I couldn’t fault. She really took care of us.
Sunday lunch on the river is simply outstanding. The views or the river are exceptional and so is the service of the wait staff. A truly memorable and relaxing lunch experience. Best Yorkshire pudding I have had to date.
Cant speak highly enough of this place, we travel from Sheffield just to dine here. Outstanding food and incredible service. Our 3rd visit, this visit was for a very special occasion, our anniversary and we got engaged, our server Jacob was amazing, couldn't do enough for us to make it special. We'll definitely be back.
Lovely relaxed restaurant with great good and service. Had four courses and everything was sized just right to enjoy it without being overly full. Certainly not the cheapest restaurant but the quality was fantastic, and value off the scale. I will absolutely be back.
Went for a drink with my dad as the weather was nice and could enjoy views of the river. Service was excellent. Beers are a little pricey, but the cocktails are well priced and delicious. I had a wonderful Chilli Margarita!

Everything from the welcome to the coffee was perfect and then some.
After 30 years of eating out around the World, I think I've just found my new favourite place!
