Excellent pub with phenomenal food. I and my partner wandered in there one evening and were astounded by the quality of the food and the portion sizes (she ordered nachos, I ordered a chilli burger). There are many stunning places to eat in York, but for classic pub grub given a creative but unprete
Went for Sunday lunch after visiting Jorvik centre. Can fully recommend the braised steak in giant Yorkshire pudding. Brimming with thick cuts of meat and creamy mash, carrots and peas in beefy gravy. Staff were really friendly and nice quiet atmosphere. A very pleasant experience all round
A really lovely cozy pub to get one of the best fish and chips. The siders were also very good. The crispy levels were just right! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to eat! If I go back to York, absolutely coming back to taste other goodies from here!
