Castle Tea Rooms - York - Photo album

The best tea room in York! The staff are so friendly and warm to everyone. Had the tomato and basil soup with tea for two and the famous scones with jam and clotted cream. It was so great the first day, I went back the day after. So cosy and highly recommended.
Fantastic Tea Rooms Friendly service with a smile. Ultra clean. Good little menu A great spot
Stopped off for a cream tea. The scones were beautiful, warm, light and tasty with clotted or whipped cream as an option and jam. The pot of tea did us 2 each with another tiny one each after 😂 It was lovely and only cost around £11. Would definitely go again next time we're in York. It was a boilin
The servers were very attentive and helpful and the food was delicious. The scone was warm, sweet and fluffy. Mixing it with the jam and clotted cream made it divine. I would have liked to have more than one though. The English Breakfast was quite filling. The atmosphere felt homey and warm and the
Me and my son prefer such quaint and cosy tea room. We went around 3pm+ on a weekday and ordered 2 sets of tea + scone. We love the scones. We were not snubbed cos of our small order. In fact the girls are very polite and we feel very welcomed. Highly recommended.
[Tues 13 June - lunchtime] Everything seemed right about this small compact tea room. Good food (coronation chicken jacket spud & ham salad) with tea in proper china tea cups. Efficient service from taking our order, to serving and clearing tables as they emptied. Just what we wanted, perfect as a v
Didn't know whether to venture into this cafe as it looks small. The service is quick, the food choice and quality is excellent and has a great atmosphere to meet up with friends and catch up on gossip. I was in York for two days and used this lovely cafe two days in a row. Toilets inside to. Outsta
Beautiful cafe and tea room tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We were lucky enough to get a table at a busy lunchtime. We both had jacket potatoes which were very nice.and a drink. The tea was served in a tea pot with a china cup and saucer. The price was very reasonable. The young staff servi
Had a lovely sandwich here, very helpful staff, nice little Tea Rooms
A chance find for us, having ducked into the nearest place available to shelter from heavy rain! Portions of everything (we sampled a jacket potato, sandwiches & a scone between us) were generous and prices really reasonable, especially for the location; think the bill for three came in at just over
Amazing little gem tucked away just for someone as lucky as us to find. Or so we thought. Though we might have been early enough to get in quickly, it wasn't long before there were several waiting outside for their turn. A small shop with a small cook area but they put on a show when the table fare
Lovely little cosy tearoom in the heart of York. Really nice latte as well. Food was really nice, loved the Brie and bacon panini. Fruit scone was scrumptious. If you want traditional come here. Fantastic 👍🏻
Wonderful little tea room with great menu options & friendly staff. Very reasonably priced too. Love returning whenever we're in York
A wonderful little cafe nestled in York's historic back streets. Good sized portions, food hot, satisfying and reasonably priced. Friendly service and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Good location. The best scones I've tried. Delicious tea. I could give you 4 stars for that young waitress who was chewing gum really ostentatiously at all times during our visit.
Stopped off here on our way back from whitby. What a lovely place. The staff so friendly and polite and the scones with clotted cream absolute heaven x visit York quite often and will definitely paying another visit here at Castle tea rooms x
A delightfully intimate little café (some ten small tables) in a side street of York. Don't be put off by the modest entrance; the food is of a high standard and what's more, by York standards it is excellent value for money. It's also centrally located so you won't have take any treks from the main
Warm and cosy atmosphere in a lovely traditional tearoom. Great service - everyone was attentive and friendly. The coffee in the cafetiere was unfortunately a bit weak, but the mocha was very tasty.
