Great local pub, great service from the staff and the beer is always high quality. As a real local pub there is loads going on to get involved with. If you want something off the beaten track then try the Golden Ball.

Guinness was lovely, it came recommended and it didn't let me down. Nice quiet atmosphere, just perfect.

Seems to be a local hangout. A customer inside recommended the Golden Ball Pale. Excellent recommendation!

Great pub. Do live music on Tuesdays. Nice little beer garden through the back with heaters above most tables too so it's still nice in winter. :) They even offer two types of non-alcoholic drinks (Heineken and another I can't remember). They even have some bike parking outside.

Not visited since 1995 and it's still a brilliant pub. Great beer, open fires, friendly and relaxed. The perfect pub.

Proper pub unlike many city centre offerings, it serves great beer, nice crowd, traditional pub, delicious pork pies and chilled atmosphere

Great old fashioned pub, spooky story told by one of the locals about a young boy dressed in school uniform haunting the pub. Lovely staff, highly recommend a visit.

Wow, what a fantastic surprise. Happened past it, thpught I'd give it a shot, and it was incredible. Great staff, great atmosphere. Real local neighbourhood pub. Can't wait to go back. Best pub in York so far!
