Cafe At No 12

So glad we stumbled across this little gem! So lovely sitting outside in the sunshine ☀️ We ordered the avo and chilli toast and added extras - what gorgeous flavours and presented beautifully! The homemade lemonade was so refreshing, perfect for a warm day. Wonderful, friendly service too. Thank you - we’ll definitely be back!

I visited York for a couple of days and had my breakfasts at this cafe. It was so yummy and delicious, it debunks the idea that English food is bland and boring. Not true at all, specially their crispy chilli avocado sourdough toast with fried eggs, crispy bacon and grilled halloumi cheese. Tastes divine.

What a fantastic little cafe. Popular with local residents. Very friendly; the food and coffee was lovely. I discovered this cafe for breakfast after staying the night at the Delta Marriott over the road. Will come again the next time I'm visiting York. We especially loved the cute Doggy customer photo wall

We are on Holiday from Australia and found this little cafe the day before we flew home, I just wish we had found it sooner because we would have gone there every single day. It’s on Tadcaster Road just a couple of kilometres outside of York City centre near the racecourse. During our visit we have been to several cafes during our stay and cafe 12 beats all off them hands down. The owner and her staff are very friendly, they interact with all their customers on a personal level whether you are having a take away or dining in. We had breakfast there which was excellent. I’m a barista in Australia and being a coffee snob I know what a good coffee should taste like, at Cafe 12 it’s the first coffee I’ve had while being in England which is up to my very high standards and expectations!! everywhere else I’ve been the coffee has been nasty!!! The beans they use are very good quality but may I had its not just the beans it’s how the barista makes it!! Their Batista is obviously and a very good barista which are very hard to come by! I would definitely employ him without a doubt. If you live in England or if you are just visiting I would highly recommend that you pay them a visit!!!!

Absolutely stunning cafe, food amazing, service wonderful. The staff are really on it with allergens but worked with me so I could enjoy what I wanted. The food was sublime and really reasonably priced. Absolutely would come back if in the area, it's a beautiful cafe with amazing food. The place is clearly loved by locals with regulars treated like family. Could not fault this place. Thank you!
