Patisserie Valerie - York Dov

Absolutely lovely experience. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the selection of food in the tea for two was both wide ranging and very tasty. Coffee was sublime. Price was good value too. In was worried that the recent negative press of the stability of the business would have adversely affected the experience, but it was brilliant.

Just had lunch at the York Outlet branch. I had a swiss cheese and mushroom omelette and my partner had ham and tomato omelette they came with a very small green salad/garnish, which had one drop of dressing on and fries. We also had tea for two. The service was friendly but not quick! We waited nearly 30 minutes for our food. The cutlery wasn't really clean and had obviously been washed in a dishwasher and had not been dried properly. The tea cups were tea stained in the bottom. I'm sure they could get these to sparkle using either bleach or a more environmentally friendly cleaner. We didn't use the toilets so I'm not sure how clean these were. I have to say the omelette's were fantastic, but the fries were a little limp and luke warm. The bill came as soon as we asked and we then left after paying. I would use this cafe again, however I would only have coffee or tea and perhaps cake or a scone as I didn't feel the price of the meal justified what we had.

We called late Sunday afternoon to a very warm welcome, we haven’t been before and heard lovely things about this particular shop in the outlet, staff described the menu to us in full and we opted for cakes and coffee,The coffee was lovely and we were delighted with the choice of cakes we made, After the experience we received we will most defiantly be calling back very soon. Thank you for such wonderful service.
