We love a weekend breakfast/brunch. This place ticks all the boxes. Eggs cooked to perfection and it's clear Coffea place a big focus on freshly prepared ingredients and big flavours. Cosy, warm, clean and friendly atmosphere. Vegan and dietary options excellently catered for. This place has an edge. We will most certainly be back!

Coffea is a lovely cafe right across Gillygate from York St. John University. Some coffee shops are quirky or chic; this one feels like a welcoming living room. The regulars get to know each other, and there is a revolving door of students and wandering tourists. Chris and Katarina offer many different sandwich and salad options, from traditional scones with cream and jam to huevos rancheros and quesadillas to pastries to chorizo and aioli to a grilled cheese spiced up with curry, onions, olives--a burst of flavor in a comfort food that is a personal favorite. Occasionally, they even host a musician for an intimate acoustic show. If you're on the north side of York and looking for a flavorful lunch and tea or coffee, this is the place to go!
