We have just returned home from a weekend stay as part of a party attending a wedding. Very friendly and accommodating landlady, excellent service, rooms were well presented. Lovely place to stay and has secure private car park too. We'd definitely stay again
What a lovely find. Great atmosphere, warm, friendly and welcoming. The landlady was very informative, helpful and friendly. We had read about the new chef so thought we would give it a go and have a drive out. The food was absolutely fantastic and cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back!
Arrived here on a Sunny Saturday afternoon and the outside area was busy. After a minute or so wait welcomed by a smiley face and escorted to a table. We ordered cheeseburger and a pint and food came fairly promptly (15 minutes). Food good but my only criticism (it's a personal thing) is food on wooden boards, just don't like it!
It's not cheap but definitely not the most expensive pub food we've had. It's really good to see a pub positively welcoming dogs and there were a few here when we visited.

My boyfriend and I came here for a few drinks after travelling 4 hours. We couldn't have asked for a better place! Absolutely wonderful pub, couldn't fault the place whatsoever. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and very clean. Will definitely be coming back!
Great value B&B, we have had a drink in here many times as have friends in the area and it has always been great service with friendly staff and owners. We tried out the B&B when attending a christening and found the room (Room 1) very good for the price we paid. Very clean with a nice comfy bed and drink making facilities, both the vegetarian and meat breakfast where very good and filling and not surprisingly very good staff and service. Would definetly reccommend
We visited this wonderful pub during a weekend stay in York. The welcome was extremely warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing! Definitely Michelin standard. I would highly recommended a visit to this pub and look forward to returning soon!!
Spent the night in York. Our stay at Saddle Inn was very nice. The staff were happy and friendly. Rebecca was very chatty and didn't avoid spending time with any of the customers. The room was very cosy and did exactly as it says on the tin. The breakfast was lovely. We were offered a choice and had a full English. We would definitely recommend staying here. An all round pleasant experience.
We went there for the first time tonight. We were instantly welcomed by Rebecca and shown to a table. Excellent pint of Timothy Taylors and the girls had flavoured gin presented in special glasses. The menu was very comprehensive ranging from tasty pan fried scallops to rib eye steaks and a very good fish and chips. The total bill for six drinks and four substantial meals was just over £60. Great music and lovely atmosphere. We will go back there tomorrow, and Wednesday for the quiz.
Absolutely love the saddle. The new managers are spot on, lovely people. I had my tea in there and it was amazing. Made to feel really welcome.
Really enjoy the stay, the owner and staff were friendly, informative about the area, and very helpful.with directions and local buses. The room was basic but clean, breakfast was good. Enjoyed a very nice evening meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Would recommend for a short stay.
