Nipped in on the way past for some lunch mainly because they were the only chippy open.

Visited York from out of town. Was looking for some vegetarian food. Rang this chippy to enquire about it and the staff kindly offered to cook our food in a separate oil. That was really kind of them, whether they do it for everyone or not.

First ever visit. Pleasant staff. Took the order 2 cod 1 chips n mushy peas. Over £19 ! Nearly fell over. Looked at price list £8 for a fish £2.30 for chips if I remember £1.10 for peas. However getting them home, 2 large fresh cooked fish flaky and really good more than generous portion of chips. Really nice but in my opinion a bit on the expensive side. But did see you could get small fish n chips for £7.75. Would use again as improvement on 2 other local chip shops which are not as good as they used to be.

Ordered hake and chips which tastes super fresh.
The chips are always cooked properly, nice and golden brown on the outside and soft in the middle.
Fish is meaty and tastes like it was caught this morning.
Prices are low relative to other takeaways in the area, particularly when you take into account that mine was delivered to my house as well.
Delivery always seems consistent. Never waited more than 20 minutes and the food is hot on arrival. Although, Deliveroo handle this.

Lovely chippy... easily accessible, fast, and reasonably priced.
I've been here a few times, and I will return soon.
