Can't recommend Sound Organisation enough we booked a demo and nothing was too much trouble we were given unbiased advice and plenty of time to make our choices with no sales pressure. It was a 100 mile round trip for us but well worth it to purchase from such knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff. Couldn't have asked for more.
I am terminally ill. I asked Bob to install a loudspeaker, vinyl system. What a wonderful and lovely man he is. He was very patient and turned my tiny room into a fabulous place to listen to music. He understood straight from the outset what was required and installed the system to perfection. Nothing was too much trouble for this kind man. He measured my room, and made it work with all other functions that it was still needed for. He is polite and respected that this may be my last week or even year of music listening, he was magnificent. Although my situation won't improve, it has got better since Bob has added his magic. Thank you so much, this was a wonderful experience.
Within the last 20 months I have had the pleasure of purchasing new audio equipment from the Sound Organisation.
The service and advise I have been given by Matt has been outstanding. I recently visited the shop in York to have a demo of new speakers - Spendor D7.2, and turntable - Rega Planar 8 .
I decided on purchasing these 2 items along with Atacama furniture.
Once everything had arrived Matt said he would come to my home to install the audio . As I live in Kendal in the Lake District I thought this was excellent service.
A date and time was arranged for Matt to visit me.He gave me advice on what speaker cable to use and how to set up the turntable too .

Visited for the first time on the 4th April just to have a nose around the shop. The staff were very knowledgable and friendly. As I was in York only for the day they kindly offered to set up a demo for me if I could call back later which I duly did. This was done by Bob Priestly who clearly knew his stuff and explained various options which hadn't previously occurred to me which was really helpful and gave me some food for thought. I'll certainly be going back even though it's nearly a 400 mile round trip from my neck of the woods. Highly recommended!
I write this while listening to my new Linn Selekt DSM (with Organik DAC). My father and I have been customers since the mid 90's. The staff and their knowledge are second to none. Also it is reassuring when staff turnover is low and you see the same people each visit. Always a warm welcome when you walk in even if the visits are infrequent.
Whilst researching a new sound system I came across the Sound Organisation and decided to travel nearly 2hrs to visit the store. It was well worth the travel. The greeting from Mathew was warm and welcoming. Whilst I already had in mind what I was looking for, Mathew offered genuine advice without without being pushy. He was clearly very knowledgeable, new his business well and nothing was too much trouble. I left more than satisfied with my purchases. I will certainly return and would highly recommend their service to anyone.
I cannot rate this place highly enough... David very kindly travelled down to Norwich to install my new system and did a fantastic, thorough job. Not only does the Sound Organisation sell the highest quality products, they also represent for me the best kind of customer service: one that is trusted, friendly and drawing upon a vast pool of knowledge and long experience. A huge thank you to Bob and John at The Sound Organisation in York for restoring my Arcam 9 CD player, and Arcam 10 and 10P amps to their former glory. They sound as good as they did when I first bought them back in 1998. Wonderful! Your extremely helpful and knowledgeable approach, together with your persistence and skill, when the fault on the Arcam 10P amp wasn't immediately obvious, were just what was needed. Bob's advice re the new cable was most helpful too - my system sounds brilliant! I was looking to buy my first record player online and John was brilliantly helpful and knowledgable over email and phone. I live in London but The SO really offered a very personal, shopping service, even when buying online. V. impressed with the fast next day delivery and love the product I went with. Highly recommend.
