A fantastic lunch at the weekend! The pub was warm and cosy. Our table was by the log fire and also had some privacy. Loved the menu choices and the staff were friendly and attentive!! We can’t wait to return again for lunch!

What a fab menu and well presented. Very nice and helpful staff. High quality food and different from the norm. They have a new ski lodge to the rear offering fondue and other alpine dishes. Sounds amazing

Food is very good and fishy as you might imagine. We did think though that some of the dishes were well over seasoned. Very liberal with salt sadly. Still very tasty. Good service. Food cooked to order which is great. Sweets are amazing. Recommended. Did not use hotel.

What an absolute gem !
We visited for Sunday lunch after a weekend in nearby York. A beautiful setting , the service and food was excellent. Great atmosphere. Great selection of food and wine . Will be back soon , hopefully with an overnight stay 👏

Enjoyed s lovely meal sat evening it was just as good as the first time we visited.
Lovely food,I can’t remember the new member of staffs name but what a lovely chap excellent at his job,was told he had only been at the pub for 4 days professionalism at its best .

We visited here as a family of 5 for a small celebration meal. The place is a stunning find, and I liked that they had a little yurt out the front. Food was stunning, and we all had different meals so tried many items. The starters are quite expensive, but when they came they were huge portions. Tables were decent and spacious, and chairs were comfortable. There were a couple of bad points; firstly the service wasn't great. We would have bought more drinks had someone come and asked us. Secondly they didn't have a beer menu on the table so had no idea what beers/ales were on at the bar.
All in all a very nice meal, we will definitely be back.

We've been to Tickled Trout two days in a row and loved it. One of us savored the light batter of the Langoustine Scampi, while the other enjoyed the tender Steak Pie. We both thought the crispy Squid Starter was generously served. The service was excellent and we liked that they have dog-friendly areas. Portion sizes? Absolutely ample. Would we return? Certainly!

I found the pub a lovely quaint place with very friendly staff and the owners were fantastic. When I saw my room I was amazed, very spacious with an amazing bathroom, all kept very clean.
The food was outstanding also, well done chef, I would definitely recommend this place, very tranquil.

Sunday lunch for 9 friends was very enjoyable, the prawn cocktail and tempura prawns were very tasty. I asked for pink beef and it was great with nice veg and v.good York's pud. The roast potatoes were NOT crispy, I wish chefs would resist putting them underneath the beef or veg.

We stayed Saturday night as we had a wedding nearby.... The rooms were really comfortable and really clean with a great shower.
The staff are really friendly and they couldn't do enough for us they all did an excellent job.
The food was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice.
If your looking for a place to stay you must try here as I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Thank you everyone for a great stay we will be back in the future.
