This is one of top choices for lunch in York. Great social initiative. Location is brilliant. I always have good service. The food is high quality and has excellent flavours. I always have an enjoyable time (helped by smashing the aperol spritzes)

Top notch! John and his team catered for our evening party. They created a lovely intimate atmosphere, the food was delicious and plentiful and their welcome was genuine and friendly. I'd highly recommend. I'm looking forward to a return visit in the daytime.

Just finished a fantastic lunch. Enjoyed the SPECIALITÀ DI TIC platter. Quality ingredients, cheerful and attentive staff and excellent value for money. All rounded off with a stylish and relaxing decor. A must eat place!

We wandered in after seeing the outdoor tables and are so glad we did. The food was uniformly excellent. Starting with the fish soup, which was beautifully smooth, rich and delicious, then the sage and butter pasta, clearly made fresh that day and cooked perfectly, followed by the luscious salmon mousse, and finished with the olive oil plenty cake for our finale. The house white was the ideal complement. We will go back in a second the next time we’re in the area.

Wow! If you are looking for an authentic, Italian small restaurant look no further We had a light lunch with everything produced fresh that day. Even the slice of lemon in my drink was sliced whilst preparing Every dish looks fantastic and I will certainly be back again

Super tasty lunch of bruschetta and grazing charcuterie boards, in a fresh and airy restaurant. We loved that all of the ingredients were either locally sourced or authentically Italian, and that the restaurant works to support female ex-offenders rehabilitation. The staff were all really friendly and it was the perfect mid-afternoon shopping break!

Perfection. The best meal we had over the entire holiday, despite being foodies who tried to eat at all the best places we could find, and despite the fact it was only a quick lunch! The truffle cheese was exquisite; every single dish was made with care and attention to detail, and the serving staff were all great. It's this sort of place that makes me wish there was a special 6* rating you could only use one in every ten reviews - I would absolutely give it that.

We came during the soft opening week to try out this new establishment. It had been refurbished to a high standard with fresh looking decor and a welcoming atmosphere. We loved the modern colour scheme and lay out of the place. The owner, whose name escapes me came to explain the background to this business and felt it had a fantasy sense of purpose. They offer barista training to women from Askham Richard prison to enable them to gain experience for help find work. It’s such a great idea!! We ordered a selection of brunch dishes to try and they arrive as and when they’re ready. The food was fresh and delicious and sourced locally or from Italy. The coffee was delicious as was the hot chocolate. The bread came from Haxby Bakehouse and so we know it’s good quality bread! We will definitely be back again to try out the other dishes! It’s in a great location! We sat by the window and watched the world go by. You could have been in a different country! Well done on the work so far. Hope the business is a success!
