The Cheesecake Guy

Cheesecake is definitely one of my weaknesses so when I noticed this cheesecake shop as we were passing through the Shambles, I couldn’t help but stop to try a slice. The display looked absolutely mouth watering with a few varieties in flavour. I did want to try good ol’ plain vanilla but they didn’t have any in unfortunately so I decided to go for the coffee flavour. This is no ordinary cheesecake. You can really tell that its been made with good quality ingredients. It was rich, creamy and had just the right amount of coffee. It is hard to find a good cheesecake that resembles a home baked one but this one hit the spot. You know how picky I am when it comes to dessert so trust me on this one! Definitely a generously sliced portion too. The staff kindly offered my little one a sweet, however as they contained gelatine, I declined - so they went through the extra effort to find a chocolate bar in the back for her. I thought this was such a kind gesture and it made her super happy. If you love cheesecake as much as I do, I definitely recommend grabbing some from here as you’re walking around York!!

Stumbled across this place yesterday in the boiling heat - headed to get the kids an ice cream as a non ice cream fan I was so happy when I seen this place. They do delicious cupcake size cheesecakes (no buying an entire cheesecake and feeling sad my stomach isn't big enough to do it justice) and the woman in the store was so lovely and helpful and they even gave my daughter a little sweetie. They also had slices of bigger cheesecakes as well. I had a vanilla one with some berries on top, unfortunately forgot to take a photo as I wolfed it down immediately (they have forks!). If I didn't live 100 odd miles away, I'm sure this would become my new obsession. If you like cheesecake, this is a must-visit.
