Enjoyed a sharing platter and a bottle of wine here on a Saturday afternoon while visiting York. Loved it. Really friendly service, platter was delicious and some different wines to choose from. Will definitely go back when in York again.

Fabulous pop up tasting menu on Friday night! The menu was prepared by The Pantry M&D and they did a sterling job!! The service was great and the staff were very friendly!!

We came across this great little wine bar by accident but are pleased that we did.
Good range of wines by the glass and very tasty small plates; the chorizo and butterbean stew was very good.
Background music was unobtrusive but interesting and added to the atmosphere of the place on a damp and dark afternoon in York.

Howl is a beautiful place. It's filled with wonderful wine, food and staff. Howl is a wine bar for everyone and matches your mood. You can go for a casual one after work or for a romantic date night. It's also one of the few places in York I feel comfortable going by myself.

Went with friends on Friday. Wine and service was lovely. Just so disappointed in the £24.00
Cheese and Meat for 2. The cheese and meats were lovely, but the plate size was small, there was a large amount of rosemary on the board I think compensating for the lack of the other items. Other wine bars offer much larger plates and York is very competitive!
