Legacy At The Grand, York

Very cool experience. There are very few tables in the space, so it was an intimate experience. Our server knew the menu inside and out, and was clearly passionate about providing the best possible evening. We enjoyed the tasting menu, and each item that came out was a conversation piece. We added the prestige wine pairing, but it *may* have been a bit too much wine for our table. All in all DEFINITELY worth it, and for us - a great way to reconnect with friends we hadn't seen in years.

Dinner. The Grand York, the city’s only five-star hotel.Opened its fine dining restaurant, Legacy, in September last year. Head chef Ahmed (ex Skosh) has developed a fantastic menu that is dedicated to local provenance and showcases classic Yorkshire produce with a modern twist. Legacy is a small and intimate restaurant serving their 'Signature tasting' menu £120 pp. Once seated, appetisers are served with a complimentary glass of @nyetimber PARKERHOUSE ROLL Cultured butter, herb butter CONFIT BEETROOT* Yellison goats cheese, miso *one of the best beetroot dishes we have ever had. WHITBY CRAB Avocado, calamansi LOBSTER RAVIOLI Shellfish bisque SALT BAKED CELERIAC Summer truffle, hazelnut pesto BUTTER POACHED TURBOT* Wye Valley asparagus, champagne sauce *star of the show SPRING YORKSHIRE LAMB* BBQ aubergine, lemon yoghurt *absolutely delicious CRÈME FRAÎCHE SORBET Lime, oabika THE GRAND HONEY Yuzu, milk ice cream We didn't know what to expect from such a new fine dining restaurant on the scene. It was an absolute triumph. Everything was amazing. From the beautiful surroundings to the service and, of course, the food. Get yourself booked in to Yorks' newest rising star.
