A great little plaice (get it?), Which does just what you need! Great portion sizes, not too expensive and friendly service to boot. They do a range of bundles that are written by hand, so always worth a visit to see what they're doing in-shop!

Had the small cod and chips (2 portions) had to wait as cooked fresh. Best we've had for a long time, lovely chips, nice meaty cod with a good batter. Seemed popular as they were preparing orders and taking phone orders (Friday) thankfully I had a seat on my zimmer frame. Parking directly outside the takeaway and a cashpoint as its a cash only shop. Loads of interesting material to read on the notice board involving the community and charity fundraising. Look forward to future visits now we've found you !

A great chippy with the best chips. Didn't get exactly what we ordered today but it didn't matter. Mushy peas became mushy pea fritters and they were so delish we'll definitely have them again! Really good fish and perfect batter. Excellent!

We've ordered a couple of times from Barkers having never had fish and chips from them before. I thought the food was absolutely fantastic. The fish was really fresh and chips were well cooked and not soggy at all. The portions were really generous as well. I thought the signage regarding covid 19 was excellent before you came in. However, I have to deduct one star for one reason alone and that is with all the perspex barriers and the hand sanitizer and the masks they were accepting cash. Yes they ask you to preorder, but I didn't know that. Taking cash and giving cash back is a serious risk. I don't know who touched the money they are giving back to me and they're handling the money I've given them. It's easy to get a sumup machine or something else to take card payments. I would definately go back there for fish and chips, but I would preorder next time. I would definately recommend Barkers for your fish and chips.

Expensive but worth it. I had a large cod and chips. The cod was tasty. The chips were good. The price was heafty. Much more expensive than other chippies in Watford.
Proper fish and chips! A real chippy offering classic fish and chip shop foods, lots of fish to select and all served up in biodegradable packs. If you want a good fish supper, look no further! Prices can be a little steep but worth it for a treat.
