My go to place for breakfast. Large breakfast with pot of tea. Always cooked well and served with a smile. Always went to wetherspoons but after I tried the breakfast here and the lunch menu I dropped wetherspoons like a stone. Go here an support your local Aberystwyth cafe. Keep it up. We have been going to The Carlton for years now,as we holiday in Aberystwyth a few times a year.But last year wasn't as good so we went again on the 22/10/22 for lunch to see if any better and unfortunately it wasn't.The food is lovely and not a bad choice of menu.But the service is so slow,we waited about 20 mins before our order was taken then about 15mins on top of that for our drinks.I appreciate they were busy,but quite a few customers were not happy that day.Its as if the staff get lost in orders then you get forgotten as they can't remember how long it's been before they finally get your drinks.The prices aren't too bad but again for what you pay it needs to improve a little.

Dined in and the food was great. I had a baguette which was a really good sized portion and delicious. Tried a cake too which was also delicious. The service was friendly and quick. The only negative was that there was some confusion about which of the smoothies listed on the menu they actually had. However overall I would recommend the Carlton.

Love this place the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Never had a bad meal from here I love the garlic bread. It's not on the menu now but if you ask they will be happy to make it. The toasties are tasty and filling with a bit of salad to munch with it. Great to stop off after a long shop. Or pop in before to fill yourself up for a long Christmas shop. I like to get a window seat when available to sit and watch the world go by. The main meals are very well put together and if it's Christmas try the turkey dinner when available. Can recommend all the food as tasty filling and good value for money.

Second time here and i will still come back again, had great service and prices are good and the portions are great, i had a burger and it was one of the best ive tasted a good quality burger. Think it was the chef i spoke to aswell because I ordered some of the very nice pear and ginger sponge cake to take home. See you again soon.
