We've just got home after a wonderful meal here! Everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the staff, the wine...but most impressive was the food. I never eat three course but I did today! Delicious crab salmon and shrimp pate, a hake Thai curry and a cinnamon creams brûlée! It's the best meal out I've had for AGES!! Thank you so much and I can't wait to come back again x
Visited last night with friends- we have been before since the re-opening and always had good meals .
Last night we were seated upstairs which was so nice - the place had a real buzz about it and the young staff were fantastic !
I had the smoked haddock soufflé and the tuna steak - both were to die for !
Our friends had not been before but cannot wait to come back !
I cannot praise the staff highly enough !
Amazing. Great food, great value, great setting, lose a few marks for service, could be a bit better.
Proper pub atmosphere, if you want a bar to have a beer and a drink then you can and the restaurant was very spacious and the decor was very good.
Table service for drinks which worked well as we had a great guy serving us who made sure we were topped up with drinks but not pestered every 5 minutes. He recommended different beers and knew his stuff.
Taco starers (didn't get a pic) were very crispy and the pulled pork was lovely.
Fish and chips main ... brilliantly done and proper chips. Batter was fantastic and I was pleased the fish was Haddock.
Great place, great service and dog friendly 🐕
Super pub with good service and delicious food. My partner had roast beef. And said that it was the best Sunday lunch she had eaten for a long time.
It was obviously a busy Sunday lunch and all the staff were helpful and polite with the exception of what I presume was the front of house manager. She seemed to have a lot on her plate but seemed to be struggling to cope and made it significantly more difficult for our party of 7 to move our table from an inside one to an outside one! Great food, dog friendly and excellent service when this was resolved.
The Fleece Inn made us feel so welcome after other nearby restaurants refused to serve us. The food was delicious! The decor was adorable. Dessert was scrumptious. It checks all the boxes and more! Highly recommend!
It was a quiet Monday evening, so the atmosphere wasn't great. We had better food last time. It was warm, not hot, the plates weren't warmed, so the food cooled down quickly, but the service was as friendly & efficient as always.
A very nice country village pub dating from 1600's. Plenty of outside seating and a great full english breakfast and coffee. Very pleasant staff, would certainly go back again.
If you are in the area, I recommend a visit. It is a traditional pub with a large covered outdoor area at the front and a reasonably sized car park to the side.
We both chose roast beef for our Sunday lunch, which came with a Yorkshire pudding and various vegetables. Afterwards we both had the apple and blackberry crumble, I had mine with ice cream, my wife chose fresh cream. Custard wasn't an option. A couple of cappuccinos finished the meal. All the food was cooked and presented very well and the waiting staff were extremely attentive.
Fabulous looking pub and decent beers on tap, but food was disappointing for a few of our 6 diners. The Caesar salad was bland and mostly just lettuce. The Sunday roast beef (x3) was gristly, Yorkshire puds were far too crunchy and despite being £19.50, it was an extra £5 to have roast spuds!
Veg was good otherwise. Fish pie was just a pie, nothing with it, no haddock could be found.
The other pie was all crust and no content, so unimpressed overall BUT a great place for a drink, especially when the weather is good.
Just visited the fleece and what a pub. Staff were so friendly. The manager Emma and her right hand man Andy really looked after us. It is my 40th birthday and they made this lunch really special. The food was amazing. My wife had the classic fish and chips and was lovely. Crispy batter with perfectly cook fish. Defo 10/10. I had the pork belly off the specials and was amazing. Crispy skin and succulent pork. Finger licking 11/10. Compliments to the chefs. I couldn't recommend this pub enough. If anyone is in the area you should check it out you won't regret it. Thanks again.
A lovely pub, great decoration. An interesting layout.
Went for a meal at 6.30pm.
The staff are friendly.
The starters where a good size. I had a the chicken liver. It was very nice. Rich and flavor a little bit of spice, the sauce was nice too.
We both had the cod special. It was perfect in every way. I really enjoyed it!
The price for 2 adults and two children with starters and soft drinks came to £103. For us it's a rare treat ever now and then.
They have their own parking.
They have a new canopy over the seating area outside and it's quite pleasant.
There's a carpet trip hazard outside the toilets that could do with gluing down.
I highly recommend this place.
