Visually striking place, full of art, light airy feel with great views. We approached the counter each time we needed something rather than staff coming to our table. Although a gentleman (owner?) Talked to us. Not busy on our visit. It's a nice atmosphere, staff seem happy and relaxed, however I felt a little like I was intruding into a family home! Staff personal effects on a table where customers have to pass is wide open to theft (A handbag and a laptop)! I had a lady stand next to me whilst I was eating, making me feel uncomfortable. (Staff family member) Our meal was really nice, bottomless tea is fabulous. Sadly, the cake was quite dry. On street parking for blue badge holders. Not sure if there is a lift for wheelchair users? Thank you.

Visited yesterday for lunch and a long overdue catch up with my cousin. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, I had the fig and goats cheese salad and my cousin the quiche. Both were delicious and plentiful. Tea was 'bottomless' and the cakes that we treated ourselves to later very fresh and tasty. Because we'd not seen each other in a very long time we spent almost 3 hours here and were treated pleasantly and courteously, and told to stay as long as we needed. Excellent!

A lovely gallery cafe just off the main square in Ashbourne. So great installations and exhibits. A pleasant surprise as you walk up the stairs and are presented with a table of homemade and locally sourced cakes. The service is really efficient, calm and not pushy. We struggle as a family due to allergies and intolerances. Mark came over and was so helpful, so we were all able to order easily, with slight changes to the menu. Bonus…. if you buy one tea you can come back later in the day and have another. It’s always nice to try and support local businesses, and it’s so rewarding when it turns out to be so good.

Truly excellent food - restaurant-quality, fresh, flavoursome, with cakes to die for. Service was friendly, courteous, understated, and unpushy. Just a lovely experience from start to finish.

This cafe was recommended to us by a local lady when we were told there would be a wait in the rain at another place in town. It's a hidden gem! The lady taking our order was very patient with all our dithering over what to have and answering all our queries on the menu items and what types of cakes were available. Vegetarians are fully catered for on the menu and there are non-dairy milk options for drinks. The mains were so filling that unfortunately we couldn't eat any cake but satisfied ourselves by looking at them instead. Definitely worth going again 😊

Lovely lunch with a good range of open sandwiches and salad (including gluten free bread) Even my mum was happy and she generally finds something! Very good range of real teas with the added bonus that if you order a pot you can have as many refills as you like in the day. Friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere, can't recommend this place enough.

Lovely gallery with excellent art by talented local artists that is changed regularly. The cafe is excellent, really good quality, well presented and imaginative food. It may seem a little expensive when you read the menu but it is well worth it when you see/taste the dishes. The salad here is probably the best salad I have ever had. There are lots of veggie options and gluten free food too. Everything is fresh and prepared to order. The tea is real leaf tea with free refills. Definitely worth a visit!

I visited Courtney Gallery in Ashbourne today. I had been looking forward to my lunch all morning. Even had a small breakfast as I knew I was in for a culinary treat. We ordered a blue cheese and pear salad and an open salmon, cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. It was amazing. The service was quick, the waitress very friendly. We were also able to speak to the young chef and compliment her on the food and it's presentation. So if you are in the Ashbourne area and want a meal, a sandwich or cake with many vegan and gluten free options, then why not call in to Courtney Gallery on St John Street. There's also some brilliant fine art to look at and maybe even treat yourself to.

An amazing cafe. The best toasted teacake for miles. Excellent cakes and coffee. They have decaff options and plant milk. I'll be going back, for sure.

Wonderful cake, coffee, and art. Lovely place to go, browse the art, and have coffee & cake. The orange almond cake is really good. You can get cheaper coffee in Ashbourne, but few provide such a lovely backdrop.
