Lavender Tea Rooms

Lovely cafe tucked away in Bakewell. We had brunch there, the coffees were lovely, I had a flat white with oat milk. We had crumpets and tea cakes which were also tasty. The building is clean and well decorated with toilets upstairs. The staff were very friendly and happy which added to the atmosphere.

Went for an afternoon tea here last year. My nana has a very picky appetite so we requested for the menu to be adapted slightly (which entailed small adaptions such as removing cheese from the 'cheese and ham' sandwiches etc) and the staff kindly agreed to adapt the menu to suit her. Made the world of a difference as she doesn't get out much and seeing her out, eating food which she thoroughly enjoyed and basking in the atmosphere was lovely. Staff were very polite, kind and friendly. The afternoon tea itself and cake selection was beautiful. Have just phoned up today to double check if we could be accommodated again this year as my nana mentioned that she'd love to go back here. Staff on the phone very welcoming and happy to hear of us coming back as a returning customer. 10/10 for this Tea Room. Highly recommend people visit. Shall be returning for Christmas with nana. :)

What an absolutely delightful find! It was the best way to end our Peak District trip. We pre-booked the afternoon tea. I love afternoon teas therefore often treat myself to far too many. This is one of, if not the best one I have had. I had the traditional selection. My sister the vegetarian option. Beautiful freshly made sandwiches and the cakes were awesome. There was so much that we had to box some up to take away. All of the staff were really welcoming and attentive. If you happen to come across a charming little courtyard in Bakewell make sure you pay these tearooms a visit or do like we did and pre-book.

Managed to get a booking for the next day and was not disappointed. Got the vegan afternoon tea (a rarity in itself), which included three different wraps (hummus, avocado and cheese/pickle), crisps, a variety of cakes (flapjack, bakewell tart etc) and simply the best scone I had in my life (with cream too)! Coffee size was decent and tasty as well. Could not finish it all, but got a box to take the rest home. Special appreciation to the lady in the kitchen, which we observed from our table, working non-stop the whole time we were there. Would definitely recommend this place!

I went here for lunch, and it was delicious 😋. I had the ham and mustard sandwich 🥪 . This came with a lovely portion of plain Crisps and a very tasty side salad. I had a skinny latte also. There was an array of freshly baked cakes, which looked lovely. The family on the table next to me were having an afternoon tea, and it looked very nice i can tell you 😀the service was excellent, and the tea rooms really lovely, tucked away in a little courtyard. The prices are so reasonable for such lovely, fresh , large portions, I would highly recommend a visit.

This has to be the best place I've been to for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were delicious, and we had 8 fingers sandwiches each. which is double what you get anywhere else. All of them were on bloomer bread and cut like door steps with plenty of filling. Then there were the 4 cakes each, and they were all really nice. Last but certainly not least there was the scones, huge, light and fluffy. I would highly recommend and will definitely be going back. Oh and we had a doggy bag as we couldn't eat it all. They provided us with a box to take home.

Booked for Mother’s Day. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious. We’re advised that three orders would be more than enough for four people, and they were right. We left with a lovely box of cakes to eat when we got home. Staff so friendly and helpful. Lovely surroundings. Definitely recommend visiting here when in Bakewell.
