A trip down memory lane for me. We used to get our dinners there when holidaying 40 years ago, and the food was always good. It's nice to see that things haven't changed. Although busy Being busy is a sign of popularity) my wife was served very quickly, and our food was plentiful and very nice. I really enjoyed my meal, as did my wife, and our Dog, who was given a small tub of free chips. I waited outside, sat on the chippy's bench with our dog, where I was talking to a lovely Gentleman, who turned out to be the owner. I can't recommend The Mermaid highly enough 😊👍

Great fish and chip shop. Ate from here twice on holiday. Excellent chips both times and the cod and cod roes were so fresh Nd tasty! First time in a long while I didn't have to wait for the roe to be cooked. Great variety of choice and well worth the wait. This place is very popular, locals love it too which is a great endorsement.
