A little more expensive than ya usual pub menu but OMG it's worth it. The food was amazing, lovely atmosphere and great service. The hubby enjoyed it which says a great deal cos he's a nightmare to please lol. Will defo visit again, compliments to the chef cos the salmon was to die for.
After a lovely Christmas do in '16, we used the Keys again for our 2017 meal.
On the run up to the day all the communication was really easy, and if there was a delay in reply it wasn't more than a couple of days. We were advised on the best meals to choose with allergies, and the drinks packages that were available to us.
On the night our drinks package was laid out on the table and we were able to sit and relax. One of our party was running late but it wasn't an issue - we communicated with staff and they held our meals back for us.
The food was lovely, the staff were really attentive and we had another amazing night.
We visited as we were celebrating ours sons results from collage. We'd never been before and everything was lovely. The staff were lovely and so thorough and so friendly. The food was just amazing and we'll frfinatwly bw back. We had burgers, pie,wishes for £21 and all the food was perfect. Really was impressed and only around the corner dromedary us.
Busy place which suggested good food. We were not disappointed either, good sized portions. All cooked as ordered (medium rare, well done ect.). Staff are attentive without being in your face.
A very delicious burger! The chips were slightly under-cooked.. but that didn't stop me enjoying them 😁
Lived in Hoyland for a year now and only just tried the keys due to mixed reviews..
The service was excellent. The decor, fashionable, the place clean and well presented.
The food was great. We had lamb hanging kebab and steak pie. Good portions, excellent taste - really enjoyed it.

We’ve been to The Keys, three times now for a meal.
Each time before we book, I read some of the reviews.
Most are 5/5 positive, but some criticise everything.
Which could put off people from eating / drinking there.
I think that’s unfair, because every time we’ve been everyone & everything has been 5/5 and we can’t wait to go there for a meal again!!
A great day out at the Keys, a man sitting outside with his guitar singing. Men and women taking part in a strong man and woman contest. Absolutely fantastic to watch. Highly recommended if you want great mind blowing show. Amazing.
A nice village pub which is located minute's from junction 36 off the M1 motorway, ( Cross Keys, Hoyland Common )
The food was excellent, the menu was good and when our food came we enjoyed ever course it was by far the best Quality food in any pub we have visited over the years.
Plus it' was also great value,
What a surprise when the bill came, we shall certainty enjoy eating here again.

Always good food and nice wine here. Pork Sunday roast was excellent. Great service.
We decided to try this on impulse. It had a good atmosphere and we choose a quite inside table. The young girl that served us was polite and helpful. The menu offered a good choice and the prices seemed in line with restaurant rarther than cafe-bar prices. The quality of food was good but my partner wasn't as impressed with his choice as mine.
He choose a mixed grill and I choose the 3 dishes for £20 ie a mixture of starters kofta, meatballs chick stripes, bread,dips salad etc.
He said his was not as good as expected and felt undercooked especially as he had asked for medium to well done.
The drinks were OK I had a tonic water and lemonade. He had a local larger.
Overall it made a nice change and the service was quick and polite.
I don't think we would choose to eat here regularly but may try again with different choices. This pub does get busy and I believe may do functions and events etc. Mostly local people come here to sit outside on a hot day.
