I have to say. The Davy Lamp Cafe is absolutely the best food around No grease. Prepared- Cooked fresh from order. Time allowing for the cooking .. you will not be disappointed. We have to say it is the best … if you ask also for any changes to meals. They are happy to alter. Good value for money. Good food. Staff are really good. Very welcoming Plenty parking free

What a little Gem of a place the food is amazing hot and freshly cooked to order it was our first visit but won’t be the last we will be back in the near future the Davy Lamp Cafe is very clean and decorated to a high standard in a retro style I think it’s one of the nicest breakfasts we have ever had

Car parking available plenty of seating indoors and out, a well lit and very clean venue , extensive menus to cater for most people . Our group of four people ordered 2x all-day breakfasts that you could add all or remove various cooked breakfast items and build your own (prices were very good) 2x meat pie chips and peas, all plates went back empty , big cups of tea all round and the food was excellent and well cooked , followed by a nice piece of assorted cakes to finish , around the walls of the cafe are photos and pictures of this once mining area and the colliery that once stood here , along with a few small mining artifacts pleasantly exhibited. The staff were well presented , friendly , knowledgeable and very helpful it was a delight to spend our lunch time here in great company and we will all come again. Highly recommend.
