If you want to have the best steak of your lives and amazing service, I recommend The Herd. We’ve been 3 times now and not once have we felt let down. The staff are super friendly, the food is cooked incredibly and the music is the best I’ve heard in a restaurant. We will always come for food here when we travel to bath I can’t recommend them enough

Visited the herd this evening for my boyfriends birthday meal. Hands down the best fillet steak we've both ever had!! Presentation is lovely, nice atmosphere and staff where friendly. We highly recommend to anyone. Whether it's a romantic meal, family meal etc... we will be back to visit from Cardiff very soon!!!

We ‘walked-in’ during a birthday getaway in Bath. Welcomed to a table and experienced nothing short of great hospitality from Karl. Drink choices were plentiful, served with ice and garnish. The char-grilled chicken was beautiful and the porterhouse steak was just mouthwatering, both dishes were tender and full of flavour! Choices of different sides including truffle chips to name just one and all table sauces available too. We were blown away by the atmosphere and the attentiveness during our visit. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and going the extra mile to celebrate with us! ❤️

Great service and very good location. Diverse menu with wide pricing range. I thought all was really delicious. I don't give 5 starts as my fillet steak was well cooked rather than medium as ordered, but would come back. Good wine selection as well.

Absolutely love the steaks. Ordered the legendary, pepper corn sauce, with prawns. Went home stuffed! Staffs are really nice as well (Karl and Lulu). Just a bit dark inside but I think that's just their vibe. :)

We had an amazing meal here for a friend's birthday. The steaks were generous and cooked to perfection (a multitude of steaks and preferences) and the staff were friendly and attentive, props to them for making us feel welcome and looked after. Not the cheapest meal by any means but well worth the cost. We left happy, satisfied and stuffed!

Wow! This was our first time here and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The service, the venue and the food were all outstanding. We had the sharing platter and I’m not exaggerating when I say that every bite was delicious. I already wanna go back! 10/10

Absolutely fantastic!!! I was celebrating my birthday with my wife on a weekend away to the city, and this was a perfect birthday dinner! It is a lovely quirky location, down multiple corridors and stairs until you finally reach the restaurant. The team were so friendly and welcoming. The food was brilliant. We each ordered the 8oz fillet with fries and shared a couple of sides. Everything was cooked perfectly (and I can be fussy with my steak) and the quality was excellent. The team were attentive without without being a nuisance and always so friendly. We finished with coffees as we couldn't possibly have squeezed in a dessert, before leaving through the other entrance at the Riverside for a much needed stroll to work off such a wonderful meal. I wish I could score them 6 out of 5!

Nice little steak restaurant in Bath. Make sure you book as quite small but a nice and cosy little place. Ordered the platter and the steak was good quality and flavoursome. Would add that portions are quite small, even for two people but we were three people so added prawns and veg and more chips. The prawns were really good but would be good for one or two more. Did ask for medium rare too but steak was more medium, not too much of an issue for us as normally have it medium but thought would try different. All in all a good place but portions could be a little bigger. The wine jus sauce was really good and service was also good.

Was nice enough! Got the legendary platter and the steak was a bit overcooked. Also thought the portion was quite small for the price- thought we would get two portions of chips as the platter was for two people, overall pretty good.

Had such a lovely meal here. It's a bit of a hidden gem when looking for it on the street. Food was amazing, service friendly and fast. The sharing platter is good value for money and evidently popular (everyone seemed to be ordering it- rightly so)! The steaks were good to perfection. Buy the sauces- they were delicious (we had the peppercorn and red wine jus). Definitely recommend and we will be returning if we come to Bath again!

This place is a strong 4.5 & I'd visit again. The walk down is a little creepy, but it's so worth it. The food & service were really good.
