Great garden, our dogs favourite spot, nice wines and good selection of Gins. Bar staff are lovely.
Its a quirky sort of place, all stripped pine floors and an assortment of furniture. It meanders into hallways, and separated cozy area's to a little garden at the rear. Its Bath ales pub, well St Austell really. The beer is good and well kept. The food not adventurous, but well presented...its a good pub for families, and just opposite Victoria parks, play area..
Homely little pub with friendly staff. Nice outdoor seating area with little huts. Really nice atmosphere albeit quiet at the time we visited! Low ceiling warning was appreciated and drinks perfect. Thanks and see you soon!
Great place to relax after a walk round Bath
Mushroom and hallumi burger was lovely, partner had the beef burger and he said that it was lovely. We will both return before we head home. Staff were friendly and helpful.
As well as having an excellent food reputation and a lovely outside sitting area when the weather is nice, the Hop Pole is one of the principal 'real ale' pubs in Bath.
Renowned for ale quality and condition (almost exclusively Bath Ales) this establishment is not only on one, but TWO ale trail.
For those who follow such things, it features on the WBAT (World's Biggest Ale Trail) and the Cotswold Ale Trail, organised by Greene King brewery and is but one of 81 pubs on that trail.
The staff and management at this establishment are very affable and quite clearly enjoy their work - I was introduced to a new addition to the BANK collection, Lansdown 5% abv a very agreeable American style IPA.
Well worth more than just another visit.
If you’re looking for a place that does Sunday roasts, look no further.
Great little pub that serves great Sunday roasts. Generous portions of vegetables, homemade yorkshire puds, well cooked meat and lots of gravy. What more can you ask for?
Service was a little off and chaotic when we first arrived. We were curtly asked if we had booked a table as soon as we walked through the door without a greeting, and didn’t receive table service (had to order at the bar), unlike everyone else in the pub. Service warmed once settled in, however, due to the rough start and inconsistent service the rating drops from 5 to 4.
Lovely little pub with great beers. Surprisingly large secluded garden at the back with lots of lovely flowers
Staff are very friendly, good drink choices. Food is hit and miss, friendly atmosphere. It has a nice outdoor seating area. To add, the Sunday roast I had wasn't particularly brilliant, I ate it all but it was below par. Roast potatoes weren't particularly nice and the pork shoulder wasn't crispy. I've been here before for food so hoping its just a one off.
Nice little place to meet friends.
Take comfort of washing hands with warm water with no fuss. Not sure if this is rarerity, but I appreciate they take care this detail
A beautiful little Pub directly opposite Victoria Park, with a lovely beer garden backing onto the River Avon. Great selection of local beers, immaculately clean, with a welcoming and friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Also, a great stop for cyclist.
