We weren't sure about The Bridge Coffee Shop because it seemed oh.so.touristy being located on the highly trafficked Pulteney Bridge, but in the end it was one of the best dining out experiences we had (maybe because we went in without any expectations). The Space/Atmosphere We assumed we wouldn't actually be able to get a seat here since there's only about four tables, but we must have come during an offtime (I think it was 10 or 11am on a weekday). The space is very, very small and narrow but because of the big windows on three of four walls it's such a bright space (despite the weather outside)! And, of course, the view: you're sitting on the Pulteney Bridge directly above and overlooking the Pulteney Weir on the River Avon. It is quite the lovely sight. The Service From ordering to receiving our food, the service was quick and friendly (and so it seemed with other customers who came in after us)! The Food We each had the cream tea which came with two homemade scones, strawberry jam, clotted cream, and an enormous pot of strong tea... and it was positively wonderful. The scones certainly aren't life changing, but they're enormous and well baked, and really - aren't they a vessel for all that cream and jam anyway? At the time we came it was about 6.50 to eat in (and nearly two quid less for takeaway - something to consider if you want to have a picnic nearby). We enjoyed a seriously leisurely "brunch" here and it was absolutely heavenly. (I also got a piece of mushroom and pepper quiche that came with coleslaw and a side salad - also pretty good!) If I was back in the Bath area, I would definitely come back here (especially since there's quite a few other sweet treats and sandwiches to choose from)!

I really liked this place. I got their afternoon tea with scones and it was very delicious. Their earl grey tea was some of the best I've had. It was also super quick. (Some of the other places in bath take a really long time) This is a great place for a quick bite to eat. They did have other pastries that looked really good. Also has a great view of the river and it's really close to where the busses pick you up/ drop you off if you're on a tour like we were.

Fantastic Belgian hot chocolate! And espresso. They were open early and had quick service for us while we were wandering. Really appreciated this little place!

On my last day in the UK, I had a craving for my very last cream tea, and fortunately enough, I stumbled by this cute little tea shop on Pulteney Bridge in Bath. It is close to the Roman Baths and the Victoria Museum. It has views of the River Avon. Even though it has no air conditioning (what place does?), it is a very refreshing spot esp. on a hot spring day! The cream tea itself was heavenly with 2 warm, homemade scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream on the side, and the tea and milk. It was delicious and hit the spot. All this for under £5! There are not many table seatings since the space limitations are an issue, but if possible, taking your cream tea here will not disappoint.

A solid dessert stop for when the blood sugar is getting low and you need to imbibe some cupcakes, stat! The front window is awash in goodies, and the cupcakes come out on top, by far. Perfect balance of cake and frosting. The strawberry and rhubarb slice looks appealing, but it tastes unusually bland. Skip. The sugar-topped Belgium cookies, on the other hand, are delicious. Pro Tip: Get your treats to go. Most cost £1.80 to eat in, but are only £1.20 takeaway.

The Lemon Drizzle is delicious, the service quick! It’s a wonderful little nook on the bridge - we also got a table by the window and had a wonderful time absorbing the view in with some tea, coffee, pastries! Highly recommend a stop- they also have a loyalty plan for the locals !

Lovely place. Sat downstairs by the window overlooking the water. Lovely coffee and drink selection. Black board menu for breakfast and other options. The 2 ladies on duty were friendly and smiling despite them being very busy. 2 coffees, 1 flapjack and 2 breakfast muffins, £22. Will definitely return when next in Bath. Thank you.

Really delicious selection of cakes, cream teas available along with lots of other drinks. The cafe is small but it makes it cosy, the views from the cafe window are very beautiful and the staff were friendly

Perfect full English breakfast - much better here than at the corporate chain hotel we stayed at. Beautiful views down the river too.

Afternoon tea with a view! You’re provided with a tea kettle with the tea of your choice, along with two scones, jam, and cream. We had the rose tea which was great. The icing on top however was the service. The madam working the counter was very kind and moved us from our table with no view to a table with an amazing view when the couple sitting there left. She had great hospitality and made this leg of our trip memorable.

A lovely cafe right in the river; the perfect reading spot for a cup of tea and cake. The staff were kind and attentive and helped me choose what to have; the carrot cake was definitely the right choice!

Myself and partner stumbled across the Pulteney during a little walk on a few days away stay. The views were lovely over looking the river, this was the only reason we wanted to go in the first place. Inside it is very small and can only seat around 10 / 15 people and not all seats have a view of the river. The lady working was very polite to everyone that came in and did a very good job of upselling to people, she was with out question the best part of the cafe. We both had food that the cafe I asked for a large full english breakfast and pancakes. Pancakes were lovely and fluffy. They had a lovely texture to them and melted in your mouth, they came with butter and syrup we also got a banana as an upsell. The full English was a little bit of a let down, a large one s asked for was small and the toast was burnt. I feel that with regards to bacon and sausage it felt & tased cheap. I did eat it all and it did fill a gap but I was let down by this - If a meal check was undertaken I would have said something to gain a better understanding of the size. The coffee was good along with the tea. If you are looking for a quick drink on the go this is your place. The cakes and bits and bobs looked lovely and I will possibly get a cake before we leave later in the week. We spent around £25 for two meals and a drinks with the view I can't say it was expensive at all.
