It's my new favorite spot for seafood in Maine. My previous was Belfast just across the bay. I loved the experience of talking to the manager and having him walk us through the ordering process and then enjoying our food on the deck and just watching the fisherman at work.
Everything, including the corn in cooked( boiled) in sea water.
Ton of seating outside and inside

This place has single-handedly spoiled me and ruined all other lobster rolls for me. It was AMAZING! My first trip to Maine was kicked off by a visit down to Belfast, and I knew this place was going to be a gem. It is well worth the price, and panned out to be the best choice of lobster we had all week! I will definitely be coming back each and every time we visit Maine.

This was our last stop in Maine and the best meal all week. The lobster roll was the best we’ve had and a huge portion! It is on a round roll but easier to eat that way. The lobster stew was out of this world and full of big chunks of lobster meat. The clam chowder and blueberry pie were both excellent. We will be back!

This is the best in Maine. By far. It’s fun, it’s beautiful & lobster and little necks are excellent. The staff is awesome, they are always smiling and laughing. Nick is my brother from a different mother. The place is a 11 on a scale of 1-10. Went there 3 times because no one compares. Keeping lobster in freshly pumped in ocean water and then Cooked in ocean water make the lobster the best we have ever had.

Young's is a unique experience where you walk into what feels like a giant lobster barn. There are probably thousands of lobsters on site. You order your food and will be given an arbitrary number (for example, the group before us were given #11,000 and we were given #1). We heard the same numbers being used. I assume it's a bit of fun the staff has while they work. There is nothing fancy about this restaurant. The food is served in aluminum foil pans and you don't get fancy picks to try to pry the lobster meat out of skinny claws and legs, but what you get is super fresh seafood. You support a local business. Bring your own alcohol, a table cloth, lobster picks and maybe a towel and hand wipes. Enjoy the view of Belfast Harbor and the ducks who swim around while you eat good food.

So we were almost reaching bar harbor, but afraid what if all the restaurants closed? so we googled nearby restaurants while driving - and found this. yes, we were aware that restaurants in bar harbor town are quite expensive - and read (while researching) that few local joints offer straight-out-of-the-sea lobsters/shrimp on a pound basis. it is that sort of restaurant (?)
It's nothing fancy - a tried and true Maine lobster shack, built over the water with picnic tables and a gorgeous view of the harbor. it is a picnic-style lobster pound right on the water.
When you reach here, you can see it's just one small section where they boil lobsters-shrimp and everything, and the rest of the sections- are where they keep their catches...
we ordered-
Seafood Sampler - I thought it would be more but just a few shrimps and 2 lobster tails (small)
Grilled chicken Sandwich - amazing
They have a sitting arrangement on the patio and upstairs and what a gorgeous view of the harbor - we spend our evening here watching the sunset.... a great stop...

7/25/23. Best lobster and steamers ever! Service is kind of chaotic and it gets very busy after 6:30.
2-2.5 lb hard shell lobsters cooked are $14/lb. Steamers $14/lb. Dinner for 3, $150. Bring your own tablecloth, plates, snacks, roll of paper towels, drinks lobster crackers and picks. BYOB. Ask for broth w the steamers bc they are sandy and get cold easily.
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING BESIDES LOBSTER AND CLAMS. No chowder or rolls. Not worth it. Stick to what they are best at.
Btw, cash and carry soft shell live lobsters are $7.99/lb.
