Jardelle

We visited Jardelle on an early Friday afternoon. It is situated just inside North Bar within and adjacent to the Bar itself. There is some parking available but not much and the road outside is busy. Better to perhaps park in Saturday Market or Tesco’s and walk down. The Georgian Quarter is attractive anyway and you can always relax for a few minutes in Coronation Garden which is such a peaceful haven. Jardelle looks tiny but it is not as small as it appears from the outside. It goes well back and is also on two floors. The upstairs is reached by a spiral staircase, is deceptively large and very cosy. The seating is simple, rustic but comfortable and the décor provides a cosy ambience that is very relaxing although a little dark. The service is efficient and friendly. Both the tea and the coffee were fine and reasonably priced. My daughters enjoyed the prosecco and noted that a good choice of cocktails was to be had. They recommended the tasty Lamb Shish kebab and the King Prawn but the latter needs a dip or some sauce. I had Baklava with my Americano and it was delicious. Some people might find it a tad sweet but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A bit of a treat! Tried lunch more recently. We sat outside this time and enjoyed the sun. We both ordered wraps. My daughter chose BBQ chicken filling and I had herby lamb. Both were tasty and filling – we each got two, plus a type of rather refreshing coleslaw and a colourful and tasty salad. If you don’t like wraps, baguettes and kebabs are available. Buy two of these lunches and non-alcoholic drinks are included. The ginger beer is quite refreshing. The bill came in at £14.95: so less than £7.50 each for a very enjoyable lunch.

Brilliant food, atmosphere and price , this town doesn't suffer average eats and this goes above and beyond most other choices. Big plate fulls and lots of choice.

Excellent restaurant, excellent food and a really lovely owner. Can not recommend this place highly enough. If you're in Beverley, make this your restaurant of choice.

Very nice restaurant, the food and service was excellent. Not sure if the place had central heating problems but the staff had set up electric heat lamps to keep the eating areas nice and warm, which was very commendable. Would definitely visit again.
