I was in the area this weekend and went to The Rock Cross Inn. It's a perfect traditional village pub with a good selection of Ales and drinks. Sunday Lunch was really good and at a reasonable price. The cheesecake was amazing!! The staff and Landlord were all really friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return.

This is a lovely country pub that has that local vibe without the 'American Werewolf In London' unfriendliness. in fact, it's super friendly. The Sunday lunches (the only day they serve food) are substantial but you'd be advised to book. Pool table, Juke box, dartboard, nice bar to sit at, good selection of beer and local gin...ticks all the boxes.
