The Chicken Shack

Wow wow wow, one of the best take aways I've ever had and I've had a few. We saw this one come up on Google maps and kept looking back at it. On the way up the hill and even from outside it looked closed except the door was open. With all the queues down on the quay for the carnival we 200% made the right choice by a clear mile. They are open for business, and they are friendly. They are extremely reasonable in price. We had the chicken fillet and chips each which was £8, we had drinks already. Because we saw this deal we tried the chicken strips 8pcs. Omg.... the food is incredible and such high quality and taste. I always have sauce with chips or chicken strips, but honestly I enjoyed this all without any sauce at all. A little mayo on the fillet each and we were both a lot more than impressed. We aren't local, but I would hope that the locals may start to help the local community and keep this gem alive. We will definitely be back again. Many many thanks for an awesome meal.

We have just been there and had a great burger with salad, fries and drink. My partner had chicken and chips and drink. It was yummy yummy. Really lovely, friendly staff and great food. Proper service, cutlery etc (eg not "finger food") proper bottles of Heinz sauce and mayo not the hated sachets. Open 7 days a week, all day, til late evening.

We've just had a fabulous meal at the chicken shack, to celebrate my son's birthday. Food great. Big portions and very reasonably priced. Good veggie options. The Halloumi wrap was lovely. Service was awesome 👍 As we were getting ready to leave, my son was presented with a lit birthday cake and had happy birthday sung to him!! It was a lovely surprise for us all and rounded off the evening perfectly .Lovely food, lovely people!
