And i love the after eight chocolate after dinner😉😉
Conclusion: the place to be
Great food. great service. great atmosphere. This is probably one of the best Indian food places i've been. Quality all around. it's a bit pricier than most Indian restaurants but it's worth it if you're dining out once in a while and looking for a decent place. highly recommended. Great service.
Nice ambience if a bit bright. Staff are there to work not serve, would have liked some interaction especially as eating alone. I had a fish tikka to start. Fish was cooked perfectly and nice flavour. Salad was a tad random. Lamb curry was very (too?) rich with very tender lamb. Keema nan was not perfect, it wasn't fresh out of the tandoor and had sweated for too long before serving. Overall I'd give the service 6 and the food 7 out of 10. Would I go again? Yes, but might try somewhere else first.
I am from India, I had been to this Restaurant in the year 2009, In my stay for 10 days in Birmingham, at least 4 times I have visited this place. The food is really yummy...Good Service...
Excellent genuine Indian restaurant established and run by the owner since the early 1970's. The food is presented by friendly efficient staff and the flavor is unmatched locally. This is well worth visiting.
Great Indian food and good service. The owner even called by our table.
We had a great meal there yesterday. Great Service and even better food. Lots of vegetarian choice and we felt the dishes had its unique taste (not always the case).
Prompt 5 star and will definitely visit again if in the area.🙂
We went to this restaurant last night. We didn’t book but they managed to find us a table. The service was brilliant, the restaurant is nicely decorated and the menu is clear.
The food - wow - all 4 of us said that it was probably the best curry that we’ve ever had. We had a variety of dishes and they all tasted so good.
I would happily go back and recommend this place to anyone - well worth the visit! 10/10.
Wasn't crowded early evening, spotted several tables who like us were off to the hippodrome. Polite, pleasant service, good food, plenty of saag in the lamb saagwalla and nicely spiced to compliment rather than compete with the flavours. Portion size perfect for us. Locals were ordering takeaways as well which is always a good sign.
I visited Maharaja last night with friends and simply loved it. Their cook from haryana , all staff including Raj and Geeta were amazing and very welcoming. Loved the food. BBQ platters, veg, chicken every dish had it's proper taste. Would highly recommend
Staff were very attentive and the food was fast, fresh and very tasty. Great location to eat at if staying in a hotel nearby. Only thing is I would like them to put the menu on the website.
I went in alone this evening and the service and food were first class. Very fresh and beautifully cooked and the waiter served it silver service style. Drink poured and half of the meal plated at the table. The staff couldn't be more attentive. Thoroughly recommended, 👍👍👍👍
Brilliant staff, very thoughtful and friendly service.
Followed social distancing guidelines perfectly.
Chef made perfectly spiced curry and was very friendly.
Couldn't ask for better evening! Thank you!
It's been a couple of weeks now since we enjoyed a first class meal well worth the money we paid for it at the Maharaja. We have sampled many curries from restaurants as well as takeaways over many years, and our party of four are all agreed that this was the best yet. Our table received first class silver service from Raj who kept a very professional eye on things such as when the dips and our water and wine glasses needed topping up.
Reading earlier reviews, yes the restaurant area is not huge, it's intimate, an atmosphere we thoroughly enjoyed as it allowed for the first rate service we received and good food is always worth waiting for so if you do go to the Maharaja, it’s worth pacing yourself to allow a little extra time for a culinary delight!
Overall, well worth the journey from Redditch into Birmingham, a trip we will make as often as we can.
