Lovely pub, extremely welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend to visitors to Birmingham who are looking for home cooked food in a good traditional pub.
Great food really enjoyed our weekend away at the bull, staff very friendly walking distance to the bullring would recommend
Gem of a pub. Accommodation good value. The "wrong" side of the inner ring road but a short walk from the city centre. Food was excellent (beef chill recommended). Ellie the cat friendly.
Proper old boys pub with a nice atmosphere and decor. There's a very impressive collection of teapots hung about the bar. Great beer selection with 4/5 local ales. There's a very cute pub cat also and plenty of seating. Very nice owners as well, very accommodating.
Great pub lovely traditional feel. Bit quiet for a Friday night, but may get busier once the local flats start feeling up. Nice pint of gravediggers mild
Visited as part of the Birmingham Canals Pubs tour. This was the 1st stop on the list at 12pm and have to say, first local pub I've been to where there's been a queue waiting to get in on opening! Reminds me of the pubs I grew up around in Oldbury that were set deep in the terraced housing estates and populated by flatcap wearing local industry workers. Salt of the Earth folk. You just need to see the other photos posted on reviews for this pub to start to really appreciate the history and effort injected into the appearance and décor of this public house. The main bar area has lots of classic porcelain cups, jars and thimble collections near the rafters and you could spend ages just taking in the photos on the wall. Opted for a fruity ale and wow... Amazing. Probably one of my top 5 all time local pub visits as far as nostalgia and tasty beer is concerned. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Nice placs to stay. Nice bar also near city centre, overall a nice place to hangout with friends and enjoy your evening.
Can't comment on accommodation, never stayed.
Beer always spot on says hubby.
Good food, especially the chilli.
Always friendly staff...
What a place fantastic pub great location but still manages to keep that earthy local feel The beers and food were excellent so much so went for a quick pint and stayed 5 hours well worth it
One of my favourites in Brum. Though the selection may not be that wide, the beers are always solid.
One of the best traditional pubs in Brum , a little tucked away but well worth a slight trek on the edge of City Centre.
What a find. I paid £45 for a one night stay that included breakfast.
The pub has lots of history and is located in the historic Gun quarter of Birmingham.
The pub maintains the character and feel of a historic building, yet offers modern facilities and a tasty, filling breakfast at a time, tailored to you.
Superb line up of beers, too.
I'd love to return!
