Sadly now closed and converted into something else. Used to love getting the team at work breakfast every Friday morning ( pre lockdown ) The hash browns and brown toast was to die for! Sadly unable to compete against the modern eateries with their multi million pound backing and subsidies! Shame, as they were unique in a modern word of same old same old American rubbish taking / has taken over the UK market for the modern man/woman.

Groupon deal for Sunday Roast. As we're vegetarian, we were given the vegetable pie (Filled with sweetcorn, broccoli, green beans, etc) with gravy, carrots, peas and mashed potato. Also swapped the alcohol in the deal for a soft drink. Good simple food in an interesting setting. Afternoon tea looked tasty too.

Lovely little restaurant. The place to go if you want a nice, quiet meal. The decor is a bit tired and could do with a spruce up, but there are some lovely original features. The service we received was excellent. We would definitely return.

I eat breakfast here each Friday. Excellent value for money, good old fashioned bacon, and toast like door wedges. Only loses a star for the Victorian furniture and plumbing.

This is a great little hideaway. The decor is as you'd expect for a Victorian tea room with pictures and decorations being from a different time. The menu is basic but tasty and well presented. Everything is served with a smile and the staff appear to get to know their regulars too which is such a nice touch in this day and age. It is based upstairs in the great western arcade which means it's central but away from the busy street outside. If what you are looking for is a nice simple lunch and a place to just sit and relax or read a book (as i do here) then this is the place for you. Lone diners are more than welcome and the staff will make you feel welcome.

The food was good, didn't like the lemon meringue pie, but the sandwiches and scones were delicious. The staff are also really friendly and accommodated well to our needs. I would be happy to go back
